Against-Type Characters

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 6:03 pm

Who enjoys creating characters that are 'against type'? (against type is subjective, but I'm going by skill bonuses/design)

For instance; I've been thinking about creating a Khajiit Mage/Battlemage (rather than typecasting him as a thief)

Other possible examples:
- Altmer two-handed warrior
- Orc thief
- Nord/Redguard pure mage

Anyways, I thought it would be cool for people to share their unusual race/class combinations (if you have any)

*Again, I know this is totally subjective and I may get people saying "there's no such thing as against-type in TES" or some nonsense. I think my point is pretty clear.

that is what I'm talking about.
I know it has a lot to do with opinion, but I thought it would be cool to hear about some of the weird but awesome builds out there.

Hammer of the gods
Will guide our ships to new lands! (Zep Rules)

One of my best characters was a Thalmor hating 2-Handed Altmer girl, she looked amazing as she towered over her enemies with her Greatsword raised high!

GIong against steeotypes are fun. :)

My Breton Jelissa: Two-handed warrior who used sneak and light armor. Only magic - usually associated with Bretons - she used was healing spells and Candlelight.

My Nord and my Dunmer are pretty typical (warrior and fire-using magetype respectively), but my first mage was Imperial. Pure mage. Worked excellent (though a bit hard in the beginning).

Among my planned characters we have an Imperial thief/assassin and - probably most unconventional - an Orc, who really hates to fight, uses illusion and followers to do that for her, while she works on her career as a trader.

Back in my Morrowind and early Oblivion days I played Breton Warriors almost exclusively.
