Aiming With Sights?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 2:16 am

Ive seen gameplay on G3 and on Youtube. And Ive seen that you can aim down the sights with guns in the new game. But i also saw that when the player aims with the sights the crosshairs are still on the screen. So when you aim down the sights do you still have to use crosshairs or does it play like COD with out the crosshairs while aiming.

You have the option to play the game with the crosshairs on or eliminate them and play with "true" iron sights. There'll be an option like in FO3 to enable or disable the crosshair, so you can just go to the Options menu and disable it.

You may be looking at an older video.

One of the latest videos from G4TV shows the character aiming down the iron sights, the cursor is gone in the zoom around 2:12:

Hmm. That looks pretty bad (I'm focussing on the example at around 0.55-1.00). I'm glad there's an option to turn that system off.

(I find it amusing that the person playing the example had trouble hitting the.... gecko?.... until they stopped aiming and switched to firing from the hip w/crosshair. Which matches my experiences with Borderlands - any gun with non-scope iron sights was much easier to fire un-aimed.)

I have to agree, even with pure shooter titles, unless there is a scope or an optical "dot" sight, I tend to aim better with regular crosshairs than the "iron sights" aiming view...

I really like the implementation of "iron sights", I think it'll be a nice change from Vats/Crosshairs... I play CoD, so it will feel natural and not forced. :gun:

The Hunting Rifle has already been confirmed, and you can also modify it as well like the other weapons.
