He doesn't say much when you find him, and, as a complete and utter fail on the developers part, when you perform a shout near him he says "How did you do that?"

He probably says more things while the story progresses. I was surprised when I saw him though, definitely wasn't expecting it...

two of his quotes involve talking about how skyrim once had butterflies (don't really understand this one) and how he thinks snow is pretty and it doesn't matter how it falls (a reference to the physics of the snow in this game).
