Other than restore health and magicka, does anyone know what potion/alchemy effects have been confirmed?

I know about those :

- Instant restore magicka/stamina/health
- Boost magicka/stamina/health absolute value
- "Strength" : increase carrying capicity
- water breathing
- skill bonus potions like :
- bonus damage of destruction magic
- longer duration of alteration spells
- bonus to blocking

( not confirmed )
- boost magicka/stamina/health regenration per second ( those effects are found in some items, which can be made by cooking so it is quite probable that it will be available in potions as well )

I'm sure someone would like to answer your question but you've worded it very strange.

Sorry let me try again. Without the perks will we be unable to determin more than one alchemical effect from a plant or do we need the perks to determine them. Because that would svck.

I don't know for sure, but I would imagine that your alchemy level determines how many effects you learn. The perk specifically refers to eating ingredients. If I remember right, in Oblivion and Morrowind you'd eventually learn more effects from a plant as your skill went up, but you didn't have to eat them again. I haven't played though, so I could be wrong.

See some of these perks seem needed while others seem just for speed.

I think I read something about a potion of speed a while ago, and I think the strength potion also increases melee damage but I'm less positive of that. I imagine there will be potions of detect life, invisibility, water breathing and water walking as well but that is pure speculation on my part.

I think he meant speed in the sense of unlocking things earlier.

And yeah, those three ranks that reveal effects for eating seem suspect.

If I understand alchemy correctly you can make potions blind by mixing ingredients and if there is a match you'll "discover" that property and learn it.

The perk allows you to to munch alchemical ingredients and instantly reveal the unknown properties right away without mixing bum potions

I would hope that all or almost all the plants are different :) different climate, different ecosystem!

I hear that you can catch insects and use them in alchemy too :)

And that food ingredients are now used for cooking instead of alchemy, which makes perfect sense.

I think it would've been cool to have Alchemy perks that let you transmute metals.

Yeah, but to me it makes more sense to have it in Alchemy. That's what alchemy is all about in the first place.

Well actually that's the public face of what alchemy is.

The real pursuit of alchemy is awakening the spiritual being within.

i'm more curious if alchemy isnt a drag like it is in oblivion. It was "interesting" at first, then it became a major chore, specially if you were trying to rely on it...
