Hi

This is a bit spoilery so don't read on if you're not past act 3 and care about surprises.

I'm currently trying to complete the quest 'Alduin's Bane'. I've retrieved the Elder Scroll, visited my buddy in the mountain and initiated the time warp. I watch the three guys kill the first dragon then we all sit and wait for Alduin to turn up so I can learn the dragonrend shout but he never does! I've left the game running for over an hour, the NPCs just stand 'in combat' and 4 lesser looking dragons permanently fly around the top of the mountain. I have reloaded from previoud saves, re-opened the game etc but the quest is just totally bugged and I cant continue past it.

Any suggestions?

I had to reload the game many times to finally get it to work.

You just kept trying over and over? how long does he take to turn up?

This quest is bugged for me too - or so i think. I cannot enter the vision. It's just stuck at "Read the elder scroll at the timewarp". I just stand in the time warp and nothing happens. Do i have to use or press something?

You have to 'use' the Elder Scroll item from your inventory.. then watch the vision, if something happens after the lady says, "We shall see soon enough, Alduin aporoaches...." then you've got further than me!

Hi, thanks - although i cannot seem to find the item anywhere in my inventory

When they say the dragon is approaching he comes right away so if you wait more than a minute that is too long and reload the save.

tried about 9-10 times now, how many for you?

Probably around the same. Let's hope you don't get the season unending bug

Ah jesus, if only that guy didn't have some an annoying voice actor this might be less painful... still trying!

Still have this problem! No scroll in my inventory after picking it up. tried reloading etc. - still nothing. Anyone able to help? Thank you in advance

YEAHH finally worked, the guy on the end wasnt going into combat and now he did, woopieee

You read the Elder Scrolls by using it in your Inventory menu under the Books menu.

However, the actual glitch is beyond that, it stops when one of the three Dragonborn fails to enter combat when Alduin is supposed to show up.

Can we get an official response on this, PLEASE? Jesus Christ, I've been struggling for the last two days trying to get past this part so I can actually FINISH the [censored] story!!!

I've tried this about 20+ times now, on different days, at different times of the day, etc. No success.

I had this glitch too.. After watching the scene 7 or 8 times it finally worked, however, now I am in the fight with Alduin and cannot do any damage to him. When I get him on the ground with Dragonrend and swing my weapon, there's no sound effect of him being hit, and his health remains untouched. I tried hitting Parthaanax, and I can damage him just fine. Help Bethesda, I can't continue the game without a fix!

Try reading the scroll a couple of times outside the time warp, then read it at the time warp and that might help it to work.
