Skyrim Ideas 1
Have you ever thought of creating more unique suits of armor that cannot necessarily be found anywhere and or armors that are more simple or complex? Also what about creating many more available suits of armor than just what you have as, perhaps, bonus armor that becomes available at the same time that certain armor types become available? How about even being able to take different armor pieces as specifically broken down in a list that would include pauldrons, ciurass-front and back, gauntlets, faud and tasset, belt, greaves, helmet, cape or cloak, hood or no hood. With this list players would be able to choose what pieces to connect from different sets and styles of armor with the ability to choose what materials or metal base each piece would be fashioned out of, via steel ingots, ebony, dwarven metal, iron, etc, so that in the end the player comes out with his/her own unique set of armor. Also, I for one think it would be great to be able to color your armor based on metal variations and armor dyes as well as being able to chose what type of fabric your clothes could be fashioned out of. Consider taking roughly the same approach with being able to make clothes. Now that, I think, is a little more complex but what you could do is give us a fairly large variety of different cloth and draqe styles as either full outfits and or broken down into parts including tops, bottoms, neck wear, back wear, shoulder addons and such things of that nature. Furthermore, it would be good to take into account the ability to color your clothes and have clothing that you can wear over your armor such as with robes or cloaks. Also consider all of these things with weapons as well.
For one thing I really appreciated the amellion armor in Oblivion, though it was just the ebony armor arrayed as refined steel it was unique and you could possibly be the only one wearing it. When I looked into the morrowind armor, weapon and clothing sets I was astounded by how much variety there was. I would like to see concepts like that brought back into the elderscrolls world.
This might seem like a lot but its been on my mind for quite some time and I would like for all of the truly great minds at Bethesda to give this some thought. Mods are great but to be able to do things akin to what was explained above within the world itself, it would greatly expand the world and the player's experience within the world. Also you might want to think about being able to build your own houses. After all you came so close to it already when you included lumberjacks and watermills, I don't understand why it was that you didn't just go the distance with it. Would it not have seemed to fit right into the Nordic way of "living off of the land"? How about cutting down trees as well?

Have you guys considered being able to climb in the skyrim world? Hello! The mountains are all over the place, so why not? The player could either choose to take his or her horse and follow the trail up the mountain as usual, or climb to the top or to the desired location.
Another thing I have considered since Oblivion: We have seen the daedra and their princes throughout every game up until now as I realize. How about an encounter with the gods, messages from Talos himself and others? Maybe even some holy creatures or holy versus dark mages; a possible game expansion thinking along the lines of the recent dawnguard expansion that you've released.
How about that huh? Groups of holy mages and even knights sent from each of the gods to go on new missions with and teach dragonborn some secret magic scarcely explored by any mage or never before introduced to humanity. Sound good?
If that works for you maybe you could throw in a really neat storyline about, say, the hidden sons, daughters, or students of Manimarco or even a possible successor who has formed an alliance with some of the daedric princes and now threatens to destroy the empire with ambitions of taking over the whole world of Nirn but wants to amount to enough power to be able to kill the gods and rule the heavens and you, dragonborn, must stop him, or the faction before it is too late.
I would think that someone like that or a faction like that would be fought multiple times at different stages because they cannot die so easily and something specific must be done in order to be able to kill them as they grow in power and so perhaps you would need gifts from the gods and from their champions.
Hey since you are dragonborn, how about systematic or strategic encounters specifically with Talos himself where he appears to you with messages or gifts of armor, weapons, and magic and then receive different things from meetings with the different gods.
You could really generate some awesome armor and weapons from that. What do you say? What do you think?
Also how about raids from the forsworn primarily in Markarth, of course, and also in other cities? Maybe you could come up with a systematic all out assault from the Falmer. After all you have left evidence of their attacks on the road and have made clear through loadscreen messages that their one desire is to have revenge upon the surface world, (though in other words of course).
How about bandit raids throughout the towns and one rising bandit faction among them that have proven to become fearfully treacherous in such a way that causes towns people and guards to mention them with a sort of reverence in their voice? Perhaps this group is known to be so treacherous that their skills and infamy may even rival that of the much feared thieves guild. Maybe there could be something rather peculiar about their leader, a mystery perhaps that the dragonborn will have to uncover, thus requiring him or her to seek them out and discover what they might be hiding. Perhaps it could have something to do with Sheogorath and Sanguine perhaps.

Looking over your reasons for combining the cuirass, pauldrons, and the greaves via the purpose of allowing for more features and detail to be added to the game, I return to my earlier suggestion of allowing the player to fully choose and make the armor that he/she wants down to the individual parts but now with a new consideration. If it is possible, in order to allow players that capacity of freedom and deal with the issue of space for more content at the same time, how about creating a system within the process of smithing that enables the player to select his/her desired pieces of armor and clothing to be put together and then have the smithing process actually combine the pieces together into one complete outfit (as in one complete object) that either cannot be taken apart or is combined in parts so that all clothing and armor that is placed on the upper and lower torso (hence where the cuirass and greaves would be) are combined into one and the same would go for anything placed on the feet would also be combined as well as gauntlets and so on, so that the player could still have the desired look and variation of armor and clothing but without actually adding any more information to the game than was originally intended by you the engineers.
Could such a thing be possible do you think, or is there anything that you could take from that that might lead into something that would work?

Higher and Farther jumping perks
More dynamic jumping
More varied body proportions (I realize that you were probably going for a more concise character creation system but how about inviting a more expansive and interactive approach.)
Unleash the enchanting and spell making system...bring it back to the freedom that Oblivion allowed the player whereupon the player was able to put almost any spell on almost any armor piece that made sense to place it on that piece of armor and being able to make any spell you want. I really liked those features as it made the game more interactive and more exciting.
Expanded mysticism: make more use of that mysticism craft with abilities such as:
1. moving large objects either to place or to throw at people.
2. Stopping arrows from hitting you if you are aware of it.
3. Lifting people off the ground and throwing them which, to not make it unfair to the player, can be interrupted by a gliding or flying spell. Make this ability to lift people off of the ground a rare one not used by many mages, only masters.
4. etc.
Flying on Dragons!!! You KNOW everyone was hoping for that and to see Dragonborn hop onto the back of Odaviing, see them fly off into the distance and then go to load screen was a let down. How about flying on dragons to wherever you want within skyrim and be able to guide the dragon and even encounter other dragons in the sky and have an incredible air battle with some dynamic camera views
When riding on a carriage, have the option of either quick traveling or experiencing the ride. Along the way be able to fend off dangers and ask to take rest stops aside from occasional rest stops that the driver might make. Allow for their to be the possibility of being raided on the way whether by bandits, mages, wolves, saber cats, etc.
Carriage Extended: Add the option of a group of high level escorts who can fend off danger for you or you can fight along side them. Perhaps they can ride in a carriage behind you.
(Might have mentioned this in previous messages)
More than one companion at a time, how about a maximum of five.
War factions: turn your group of companions into its own faction that you the player can name, yourself. This could be made possible if you can convince them to come with you based on a "common cause" dialog such as say: to stop forsworn attacks or falmer attacks. Of course your speechcraft skills would be implemented in this situation.
War factions 2: If you stir up enough trouble by interfering with enemy factions then perhaps there could be events leading to a war (similar to the stormcloaks verses the imperials) in which case you could then rally more people to your cause who of course do not have to travel with you but can be found stationed at outposts throughout skyrim and can be notified either by you personally or by sending a messenger or two to inform them of enemy plots or your next move so that those outposts can meet you at the indicated location of war or battle.
War factions 3: Also not every outpost has to meet you. You could send messages to the outposts you need with you at the time of war unless you just feel like overwhelming your enemy faction or you actually need that many men with you. There can of course be both male and female warriors of any race depending on who you recruit. New npcs can be created for this cause as well as traveling npcs from all over the empire.
Traveling Npcs: Speaking of which if I may say so myself, we really should see more caravans or just more traveling npcs on the roads, even traveling warriors and veteran guards from other provinces.
More houses for sale: How about adding houses that are unoccupied, at least twelve I would say, or homes that can be built. How about several areas in cities that are unoccupied and can be selected for whatever purpose you want as long as you have a good rapport and of course the coin to afford it.
More children with different outfits of clothing, different voices, different facial features, different ages, and of every race. There can be all sorts of general age ranges, not to go crazy, but the general appearance of a particular age range that you can easily place an age on: such as 1-3, 5-7, 8-10, 11-13, 14-16, 17-19, 20-29, 30-35, 36-40, etc. Also allow the player to choose from such options during character creation by making a look that fits those age ranges and then say, type in your age.
Skyrim Ideas 5
1. More animations for the player that cause your character to respond and interact with the environment instead of seeming so stoic most of the time. Have the player do things like:
a. warming hands by the fire
b. sitting down and having a drink and eating
c. getting into bed to go to sleep
d. practicing sword skills on a dummy or in an open area when people are not around
e. chopping wood and bringing it to the mills or those working the mills
Etc. Those are just some things I had in mind to give you the gist of where I'm going with this but in particular I'm suggesting that we actually see our character doing these things and how about having our character actually making eye contact with people the way you had it in Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion. Anyway the list goes on.
2. Random war battles between factions all over Skyrim at different times that you can run into and chose to participate in. Factions may include, of course, stormcloaks against imperials, bandits or marauders against soldiers or guards, especially Forsworn against nord soldiers or hired hands or adventurers, and other factions that you have in the game, you get the idea.
3. Being able to make friends and have multiple companions after supporting one side in one of these faction battles.
4. Aquiring fame across Skyrim, particularly throughout the holds, for your bravery and assistance in those battles that might inspire some traveling caravans or traveling soldiers or adventurers to ask for you to either join them or protect them.
5. Fame for your deeds can stir enemy factions to come after you at different times but you can also have people protecting you.
6. Future game idea: War for Cyrodiil against the Aldmeri dominion to "restore the empire to what it once was" (as you sometimes here from certain npcs from time to time). How about returning to Cyrodiil at some point to see what has become of it. Maybe there can be an old high elf wizard from the original mages guild who has lived for all these hundreds of years in hiding who is disgusted with what his kin have done to the once proud empire and goes with you to help you restore the empire. Maybe there can be a situation wherein he knows of a way to inquire of Akatosh to bestow his blood to the bloodline of the emperor should he agree to fight the Aldmeri dominion again, or, choose another worthy candidate to bestow his blood upon that individual if the emperor should side with the dominion.
