Sweetrolls (lack of 'em in Morrowind) and interesting tales to sing of... or was it singing about sweetrolls?

That's a good question; I've never wondered really. I think my character is from a family of refugees who left Vvardenfeld after the eruption. I'm not sure that her parents are living somewhere in Skyrim though. As for her, being a mage by nature and an alchemist by trade, she came to Skyrim with the idea of joinging the College of Winterhold.

Medea Selarys is tracking down her aunt.

Her parents fled to Cyrodiil during the Red Year, and Medea herself was born in Cheydinhal. Her aunt Dilsa, however, went to Skyrim and was never heard from again. As Medea's mother is growing old, she wants to know what happened to her sister, and Medea offered to try to find out. So far, she has had no luck. She hasn't been to Darkwater Crossing, yet, though. You see, Dilsa is now dead, but she was married to Sondas Drenim, so at least Medea will be able to find out what happened.

Ineri Telvanni chose Skyrim as a destination over Solstheim upon his return from Akavir because he figured he'd less likely be recognized by the Dunmer population there (although he is currently going at great lengths not to spend any significant amount of time amongst them).

I was born there. My parents are farmers who fled there after Red Mountain erupted with their own parents. Thankfully the Nords of the time were helpful and invited us as refugees. The Nords alive today remember little of their ancestors hospitality though so times are tougher. But it is as much my land as it is any Nords as I was born on it's soil. If you think otherwise then go ask the Falmer what they think.

I'm in Skyrim because that's where Bethesda set the game. I had no choice in the matter.

Fleeing from Argonian oppression in Vvardenfell. I left, and got caught camping out in the mountains lining the border.

Hiding from the Thalmor. Figured the province in the middle of a civil war was a good place to hide. They have much more important things going on than worrying about little old me, and when a Thalmor patrol goes 'missing' they assume it was the Stormcloaks.

To speak on my Dunmer's behalf, for RP reasons they are a memer of the Morag Tong, coming to Skyrim to wipe out the last traces of the Dark Brotherhood and take control in their place.

It was pretty much the only RP concept I could run with.

Cool. I typed out a short history of my Dunmer char when I first started him, a long, LONG time ago. Still have it here:

Salms Arendus, Protector and Head of House Arendus, fled to Blacklight after a political plot destroyed his family. His house was an honored protector of Great House Redoran, before they were ousted by political subterfuge from their seat in Kragenmoor. It was an argonian plot, aimed at creating strife among the city's elite; two other houses were effectively destroyed in the aftermath, the reputations of several others tarnished irreversibly. As a result, House Arendus was shamed and dishonored, and cast out of Great House Redoran in disgrace.

Salms himself was exiled from Kragenmoor, the property belonging to his house in the city was forfeited, and his two sons came with him to Blacklight, to appeal to the leadership of House Redoran. His house's reputation had been considerably scarred, however, and his pleas fell on deaf ears. Harrassment and threats from other houses forced them out of Blacklight, and Salms made the fateful decision to return to Kragenmoor, to restore his house's honor. On the way there, however, he and his sons were beset in the night by an assassin of the Morag Tong. Salms managed to defend himself, while the ensuing fight killed his youngest son, and wounded his eldest, who slayed the intruder. The assassin perished before any detail about his patron could be learned.

Salms' eldest son recovered, yet when they reached Kragenmoor they found it almost impossible to contact the remaining members of their house. Since it would be too risky to inter his dead son in the family tomb, Salms instead chose to cremate him. For months afterwards, Salms and his eldest son lived in secret, investigating the circumstances of his house's destruction and contacting the remaining members of House Arendus, all while avoiding the detection of the city guard. It all meant nothing, however, as they were eventually betrayed by a member of their own house guard, and Salms was arrested and jailed. His son went missing.

Eventually, Salms was released on account of his house's old reputation, under the order that he quickly leave Great House Redoran's holdings and never set foot in them again. His release was supposedly orchestrated by a member of Kragenmoor's elite, as he was left with a note that advised him not to expect the same "mercy" a second time. His eldest son, as he discovered it, had been killed in a skirmish with members of another house. Devastated, and without the time to grieve, Salms met with the former steward of his household and asked him to inter both of his sons into the family tomb. After making the few arrangements that were required, he set off, making his way south to Narsis where he kept the records of his house for half of a year.

Contacting his brothers and sisters had proven fruitless; having all but disowned him, Salms' family had sent him one message to inform him that they no longer considered him a member of the house. There had been no other respondence, other than through another member of the Morag Tong, who came to him one night with a final message from his younger brother. He had dealt with that one quite viciously. After coming to accept his family's rejection, Salms Arendus chose to leave Morrowind behind.

He bought a horse and went from Narsis, to Cheydinhal, to Bruma, working as a sword for hire wherever he went. Eventually, he found his way up into the mountains bordering Skyrim, on an escort for an old treasure hunting breton. Unfortunately, the escort was ambushed by brigands in a snowstorm, and Salms narrowly escaped with his life. He wandered the mountain ranges aimlessly trying to find his way back to Cyrodiil, but was taken in by a Stormcloak patrol and accused of spying for the Empire.

Salms Arendus never asked the gods for forgiveness or mercy, nor had he complained to anyone; he just accepted his fate with cold determination, and sank his teeth into whatever life threw...

My first character, and the one I've been most attached to. Really can't wait to play the new DLC with him. ;)
