Allowing Werewolves more things to feed on

So I love my Werewolf; very fun if a tad OP in some cases. However, I find it displeasing that I can't feed on any living creature :( I'm sure someone will tell me there is some kind of lore reason behind it, but I think Werewolves should be able to feast on anything that is alive to continue their bloodlust.

I know feeding on certain things wouldn't make sense (Undead and Machines, possibly Bugs) but I don't see why you couldn't feed on Mammoths, Bears, or Deer (and the occasional helpless Rabbit).

Anyone else think it would be a good idea to have a mod that opened up more feeding oppertunities for Werewolves?

The blood of men and mer are all that sate the beast. A creature is just too bland and unflavored in comparison.

EDIT: And forgot to mention that it doesn't sound hard to do. Maybe you'd just need to figure out how they make NPCs recognizable for being fed on.

I was waiting for some reply like that :P I'm not TOO concerned with lore (I figured there was some lore behind it) but I guess that is the beauty of mods, we can make the game how WE like.

I'm hoping it's just a flag or something like "allowable targets". I don't mind scripting (actually fairly good at it), it's just a pain to work with (damn you mis-placed comma!)

I made a mod called "Devour This" for Fallout 3 that let you eat creatures aswell as robots, but for robots to work you had to have the cyborg and cannibal perk. So if it's anything like the cannibal perk from fallout 3, then it's pretty easy to do.

I can make one for Werewolves when the creation kit comes out if you'd like.

Yeah that would be awesome. As long as it's not anything ridiculous (like feeding on Draugr or Dwemer Machines :P)...Where are you CK!

MmMm... metal chunks. No I don't think I'll let them feed on Dwemer machines or Draugr.

Where are you CK indeed! I keep checking almost ever hour just to see if it's out yet.

Do you think you'd be able to make the "beast-form power" a toggable spell/power, meaning it can be used anytime you like and not just once a day.
Also that you can turn it off and revert back again anytime you please.

I would REALLY like the Underworld movie Lycan style of just basically turning into a werewolf anytime you please as your "combat form".

This will actually be pretty easy for you. There are some new entry points in perks that allow activation filtering and easy adding of new activation types -- that's how the feeding was implemented. It's through a perk that does two things:
  • Blocks activation (not even showing the prompt) on anything that you can't feed on
  • Adds a "Feed" activation prompt to the appropriate things.

So you'd just need to expand the range of allowable actors on both of those.

The new perk stuff is pretty exciting -- pretty much allows you to "verb" the world in any conceivable way. Psyched to see what else modders do with it.

(FWIW, it was done for game balance reasons. :-) )
