I almost betrayed Lord Ulfric.

Dark thoughts clouded my mind and started a new character to join Tullius. I stopped myself and my mind cleared. What was I thinking? I feel ashamed.

Do not be feeling ashamed. For every character one makes for Skyrim, that character that they made has a "old-age" moment. lol My gals have alot of them.

Believe me it is worth playing both sides, even if you end up sticking with your original choice. Like I pointed out in a previous post, you don't really know your enemy so it is so easy to blindly hate....put yourself in your enemies shoes for a while and you get a whole new perspective on things. For all you know, it may increase your loyalty to Ulfric by confirming everything you thought about the Imperials.

You won't know unless you try.......

I think you should play through the CW on the Imp side at least once. It's mostly boring, because Tullius treats you like a cog in the machinery (while Ulfric treats you like a friend), but it's always interesting to see things from another perspective.

I've also done a "Traitor" playthrough - a character who started out as a legionette (or whatever women in the Legion are called), then switched sides and joined the 'Cloaks instead.

It's the opposite for me. I would regularly join the Legion, but time to time join the Stormcloaks. The SC have a more of a "brotherhood" feel to them, but nearly all the character that did join them were elves or a beast race. It felt very strange and out of place, as if I didn't belong. I also didn't like the changes (ironically) they brought to the cities. I felt that whatever "hardships" Skyrim was going through, only got worse by a SC victory by listening to various NPC's.

Each one to his own though, it's good to listen to everyone, and then notice the changes. Regardless of which side you join.

It can be pretty annoying, but it's nice toward the end when he starts warming up to Nords, Nord culture, and his special forces legate. Proof that even the driest generals can have a little feeling. It's like Scrooge, only without the roast goose and with more blood. Pretty similar otherwise, though... :D

Every time I kill Ulfric, I make sure to revive him and keep him as my thrall forever.

Same for General Tulliass, they make a good team.

To me Tullius' hard earned and grudging respect is worth so much more then Ulfric's pretty and insincere words.

Go bathe in the blood of many Imperial soldiers to wash your sins away :P

I don't like Ulfric but I despise Tullius.

I tried playing an Imperial character once... Never got through the whole thing. But for the sake of becoming better-rounded in my knowledge of the civil war...I watched a playthrough on youtube :P

I played through as a Stormcloak on my first playthrough. I hated it. I got a bad impression from Ulfric and didn't like the result of the Civil War. I literally finished the Civil War and started a new character.

Might be because I get the chance to fight for what I believe in and get to rid Skyrim of the pest that is the Thalmor.

I'd rather die fighting for this than bend over and accept Thalmor sausage.

Am I the only person that likes both the Stormcloaks and Imperials. I join one or another based on the race I play and the roleplay.
