Amazon pre-order not yet shipped? :O

Post » Wed May 09, 2012 2:13 am

I realize I'm probably freaking out needlessly.

Any other PC users who pre-ordered from Amazon still showing as not yet shipped? I guess they're just planning to overnight everything?

I actually bought straight from amazon. I liked that it included free "guaranteed release day delivery," so i don't understand why they'd plan to overnight it as it's more expensive.

I bought the CE and it still hasn't shipped.

Of all the other spoiler stores who don't care about release dates, at least I picked it up from one who took the date seriously.

Agreed. Retailers should take release dates seriously, if for nothing else out of respect for the company. Beth may be less inclined to do business with them in the future as a result. I'm just crossing my fingers that amazon delivers (pun obviously intended)

over night is more reliable than normal shipping
probaly would cost them more to do normal shipping and having to refund money if it does not arive at the correct date

dont want to be alarmist

ring them, see if the stock didnt meet the demand and you ended up being on the "shafted" list, happened to me with fallout 3...everything was right except the fact they ran out of stock before the system told people it was over sold

with millions of sales there was always going to be some ended up getting to back door boogie on the devils love truncheon ;)

Gamestop has not shipped my CE guide either, it's still stuck in the notoriously vague 'open' state. Come on Gamestop, I pre-ordered it with a credit card, at least take my money so I can have some sort of confirmation!!

That being said, I believe starting tomorrow we will see orders finally processing & shipping out.

Also, let's keep a few things in mind.

Amazon has shipping warehouses across the world, in many places. There's one 2 cities away from me.

Maybe they received Skyrim early this week and plan to have Fed-Ex/UPS bring it the whole 10 minutes over here?

Also, large companies, or warehouses that ship daily, get stupendous discounts on their daily pick-ups.

I may end up having a daily pick-up deal with UPS for my business next year, so I found out more info about this... while waiting for Skyrim. :)

Mines been dispatched. I'm in the UK and I ordered the standard pc edition. Received an email overnight. I expect a lot of you will have done by now. It's 6.43 am 10th Nov. Just finished a nightshift. Two more sleeps and one more shift to go.

I worked at fed ex for years and know a bit
about how amazon works. One huge thing
with amazon is during busier times of the
year they tend not to update their tracking
Info as much. I can't tell you how many times
I've delivered something and someone says
"wow you're early, my package didn't even show
it was shipped. So don't worry you should be fine.
Also it depends on if you order it through a 3rd party. You may
get it tomorrow. Only thing in wondering is a friend of mine says he's off Friday
And he still works at fed ex. Not sure if he's for the holiday or another reason.
I've delivered games before and sometimes I'd load the truck a day early
Ina holiday so I can bust it out when I come back from a day off. Sometimes people
Will call the terminal and say 'what time we be by to drop off a game'. We have to say we're not working today and they get pist.
Fed ex doesn't always take off the actual holiday, it may be the Friday before or something.

Also your package may not even be shipped through fed ex so eveything I said would mean nothing lol. Something that small may be a USPS parcel. That's if your in the US. Anyway sorry if I was confusing, fed ex is screwed up that why I left, bottom line you should be fine. Believe the guys down at fed ex usually know when it's a game release day and they try to make it priority. You should of seen when we did the Wii. Holy !?!? People were trying to stop our trucks to get the thing. Have fun playing when you get it, I know I will.

I ordered two release date delivery games this year from Amazon, Uncharted 3 and Skyrim(PC). Uncharted arrived on release day just as the delivery date specified by overnight UPS. I suspect Skyrim will be the same since mine hasn't shown as shipped yet either. Since I have to work Friday :flame: I won't be able to play until that evening so it's no big deal to me.

...................... free "guaranteed release day delivery,"

Ouch, That could mean that it doesn't turn up until 11.59pm on 11/11/11 a full 23 hours and 59 mins after realease, as that is still technically 'release day delivery'

I myself will be leaving the house in 27 mins to head over to the local 24hour ASDA and physically walk out of the shop with it. at 00.02am on the 11/11/11

(it would have been 00.01am but have to pay on the card not cash)

I pre-ordered from Amazon.co.uk (standard edition, not CE) and it shipped 11/09. Bad thing is I'm from Greece and I have to wait 5-6 days for delivery...

Mine has been on "shipping soon" status all day. I am pretty sure it will ship some time later tonight and still get here early in the morning. That's how it worked with Battlefield 3 a couple weeks ago so I'm not too worried. Also, since UPS doesn't deliver to my residence until late evening I still have a while to wait. At least the week is over, time to get some last minute things done so I can dedicate my weekend to Skyrim!

The delivery estimate for Amazon Canada for my preorder was Nov. 15 to 21... So I canceled it and just got it on steam which is unlocking in 7 hours. I would have liked release day delivery but because I live in the northern part of the country not even UPS can get here that fast. *sad puppy face* I would have loved a retail box but oh well.

Mine's still not shipped either, but I won't be home for a couple of days, so I hope it comes Monday. (Says the earliest arrival date is the 17th, but they're usually earlier than the estimate....)
