AMD Catalyst Hotfix Fixed CTD Problem

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 10:03 pm

I just learned there is a hotfix for AMD users.

EDIT: It solved my CTD problem. If you are experiencing crashes on launch, try the hotfix.

I just learned there is a hotfix for AMD users.

Sorry but this 'hotfix' is about as useful as a cyanide pill, it does not do anything, the textures still pop in extremely slowly and the overlay (minimap and inventory screen) flickers so badly that i feel like i'm about to suffer an epliptic fit.

My pc can handle anything you throw at it to so it is not a issue with my hardware.

system specs:
Win 7 64bit
Intel Q9550 OC'ed @3.77ghz
Sapphire HD6870 Toxic 1gb
8gb Ddr2 1066mhz Ram

This is severly messed up, currently till this gets fixed i'm considering this a huge waste of cash.

Good to know I don't need to waste time installing new drivers. Thanks for the heads up, everyone! :)

I can confirm this hotfix just allowed me to actually run the game.

Prior to installing the hotfix I experienced about 15-20 CTD on launch.

I have AMD 5830m GPU and I can verify that this hotfix solved my CTD problem

Prior to installing the hotfix, this is the error message I was getting:

Same here. Wrong textures being drawn on the screen in patches. Unacceptable! I'm using a Radeon HD 5570 (1GB).

I couldn't even run the game before d/ling the hotfix. After d/ling I still can't run it and am getting the same error.

Hotfix install (any AMD install) crashes on my system. I have an older 4870, which is not listed under the hotfix, but I thought I'd try it anyway. Updating drivers (succeeded through windows update process) got me past the console, but now I get CTD immediately after screen flicker.

Specs:
Core 2 Quad Q9450
Radeon 4870
8GB RAM
Win7

Was able to get display driver installed by searching from device manager. Now the only problem is that it's showing up on the wrong monitor. I suppose it'll probably have all the artifacts everyone else is reporting, too..
