American Revolution Question

Okay so I got a book recently on the American Revolution (Starting to really like the time period). So I read that the Colonial army was effective against the British Regulars because they utilized Gurilla tactics. But I also read that the British were allied with the Mohawk tribe, which excelled in guriilla warfare. My question is why didn't the British use Mohawk warriors as gurilla fighters, and beat the Americans at there own game, or at least get the Mowhawk to teach the British soldiers on gurillea warfare, so the British could counter the American army?
