Found this and a ruby one of Frost Giants in the forgotten vale, anyone find a use yet?

There are 5 of them. They are portals to areas that cannot be reached by any other means.

There is a paragon portal near the shrine of learning. It is hard to find. I think it is across from where the amethyst one is

There are 5 paragon stones. One of them leads to something special, but you have to kill a falmer to get it. Another leads to Unknown Book II

can't find the portal... Are all teh gems in the forgotten vale too? I only have 2.

No. All but 1 is in the vale. Some are around the falmer camps. 1 is in the temple at the end. The teleporter is by the shrine of learning. There is a waterfall and the giant with the ametheyst one. It is across from that giant.

FOund the portal, now I have 3 gems all from the giants. I'll look for the one in the temple, then I guess keep my eyes open for the last one.

The ruby one leads you to the most epic shield ever created.

But it is being held by a tough enemy.

It's in the main dawnguard quest for both sides. There is no marker, and it's not a actual quest it's just something that we figured out.

kill a frost giant in the vale and go from there
