ED-E and Honest Hearts

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 9:24 pm

So in order to start the DLC you need to have no party members with you. Now the problem is related with the topic title. Apparantly ED-E is still a party member despite the fact it has disappeared somewhere and now I can't start the DLC because I can't have any party members. How the hell do I get ED-E back and out of my party so I can play this?

And before anyone says to go to Vault 22 elevator, i've done that and still ED-E isn't missing. ED-E isn't on my pip-boy map either.

This is on the Xbox360.

How the hell did you manage to lose a floating robot that constantly buzzes and plays war music?

It's a bug or something. It just disappeared somewhere and won't come back.

In Honest Hearts you are not allowed to take followers with you. Unlike Dead Money, the game does not force them out of your party, you have to do it yourself. Unfortunately, ED-E can be glitched out of the game entirely. If this happens the game still thinks ED-E is in your party and WILL NOT let you travel to Zion. Hopefully this gets fixed somehow.

So I don't believe that there is anything you can do. Sorry.

Oi, you're on the X-Box, aren't you?

Known Bugs involving ED-E for the X-Box 360

xbox360: If you tell ED-E to part ways and return to Primm, he may be removed from the game instead.
xbox360: Exiting Bloodborne Cave may glitch ED-E to be stuck in the opening of the cave. Even with the latest patch, ED-E will instead show up as a marker, but can't be found in the surroundings or in the cave.
xbox360: ED-E will get stuck in all the towers in Hoover Dam, mixing up what door to take to follow you. He usually ends up on the roof of the tower you exited. If you take the Elevator to Hoover Dam Offices he will usually appear. (After second patch)
pc ps3 xbox360: ED-E is often rendered unconscious via explosions which make him disappear. This may also happen when ED-E sustains enough damage while already unconscious(tested using Knock-Knock and Holorifle on knocked-out ED-E). Often, ED-E is dead, despite retaining the Enhanced Sensors Perk and the player won't receive a message about his death.
xbox360: Boomers artillery will kill ed-e, even on normal mode and you will not be informed of his death.
ps3 xbox360: When at Black Mountain, its possible that ED-E will disappear after The Courier is attacked by super mutants in the small pass with the bear traps and the large boulder, but only after the super mutants attack.[Confirmed]It can happen as well in the entrance of Vault 22.

Possible Fixes (unconfirmed)

-This can be fixed by traveling to Vault 22 and using the elevator to travel to any floor if the quest involving Keeley has been completed. It is also confirmed that the Vault 22 elevator method also works if ED-E vanishes after you visit Lucky 38 and get the suite and the radar shows ED-E to be somewhere in Freeside.

- ED-E can also be returned to Primm if you have the Dead Money DLC and you go there.

I find it amazing how many Xbox exclusive bugs ED-E has.

ah crap. My last save with ED-E still in the party is about 30 hours of gameplay ago and before I even got to New Vegas. Would be better if they just forced any party members out and sent them to their normal locations. Oh well thanks.

Moved to the support forum.

The ED-E issue is a bug. We're working on a fix to it. In the meantime, as Simpson says, you'll need to revert to a save prior to when ED-E is lost in order to play Honest Hearts.

I also am experiancing the glitch with EDE. I have tried several of the methods above. I am using xbox 360.

I haven't checked bloodborne cave or the towers of hoover dam, maybe by some miracle he is there. I am also going to try to clear my xbox cache, and remove the dlc. I haven't tried this yet, and maybe it will drop kick ede back into the mojave wastes

I have already tried

- vault 22 elevator
- wait 2 in game weeks
- nash residence
- he is not on my map
- lucky 38
- elevator to penthouse (hoping victor would kick him out of my party)
- played DM all the way through, then lost ede, so can't try DM trick
- bringing rex into my party (game says ede is present, and can't have him at the same time)

I haven't tried them since the latest patch, but I'm not very optimistic

It would be great if there was a new patch or something
- Maybe there is a guy in the northern passage, he has one dialog choice that says "order your party back to lucky 38"
- Maybe instead there is a magic nuka cola bottle in the lucky 38 suite that orders all your party members either to all return to lukcy 38 or all return home

I have over 180 hours invested in my character, I don't want to start over because there is a bug in the game that is not my fault.

I got the dlc this morning. Didn't try to start it yet, but I hope EDE won't be a problem. Will keep you posted

I'm having the same problems but instead of EDE its the dog, this game is [censored] I cant believe we have to jump through all these hoops just to play DLC. Next fallout is a no go for me.
