Animals in Grand Theft Auto V

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 12:50 am

Do you think animals should make an appearance in the next GTA installment.

So it looks as though dogs will be in the game, seeing as 2 dogs can be sighted in the trailer.

But what about farm animals; pigs, cows, sheep and chickens would all make good editions. As would; bears, deer, cougars, wolves and rabbits in the wilderness. Sharks, fish and dolphins could also be found in the water.

If Rockstar are going to go to the trouble of adding plenty of wilderness in GTAV they should fill it with wildlife.

Your opinions?

I think some animals would be cool, but no reason to overdo it with wolves and cougars. I mean, there's a backwoods, but it's unlikely you'd be seeing them. Deer and stuff sure, fish were in SA so I figure they'll be back too - it had sharks, schools of fish, turtles, and some others I can't remember.

What is this, Montana? The most you ever see in LA, are coyote who go farthest into the city, some deer that usually hang around the hills and base of them, and some birds flying around. Wolves, rabbits, etc. are nonexistent even the further into the hills you go. They should focus more on adding more important things, rather than trying to blend RDR and GTA from what they already are.

So no, there shouldn't be any bears, cougars, or sharks and fish. Just the most likely animals you're likely to see in a visit to LA. Keep the wildlife to RDR, and keep GTA where it's known to shine best.

I dont want animals. Would hate to hit some dog when driving on the pavement, unless its one of those little yappy ones, to hell with those dogs.

Now I would love to see a combine harvester back. That was geat fun in SA.

Not really something I see being useful or adding anything to a Grand Theft Auto game.

A. No, I don't want some 16 year old dike posting youtube videos thinking animal cruelty is funny.
B. Again, no, this would give major news outlets MORE fuel to feed the fire that 'All video games teach our youth to be mass murderers'.
C. Given that I know what most of the audience of games likes GTA and SR are like, that would make what I said in Point B all the more important.

Its just a game though, unless you think mass murder of humans in video games isn't worse somehow I don't think it really matters. There was also plenty of 'animal cruelty' in Red Dead from what I hear so I don't think anyone will really care.

I also don't think it will really add much to the game other than making the world a bit more believable, which is fine, but I was never bothered by a lack of them so it doesn't really matter to me either way.

True, but my problem is the kids who post that kind of thing finding it funny. I know some people say 'Oh it's just a game man', but I'm of the mind that the way a person plays a game is a mirror into their personality. Roleplay not counted, since someone is willfully pretending to be a different character. As for Red Dead, I can't comment as I've not played it.

So since I hit people with cars in GTA, I'm going to the most lethal thing in this town when I get my license?

That must be a pretty badly distorted mirror then, if you think it shows a piece of someone's personality. If you ever want to know someone's personality, then it's best to get to know them, than to gauge how they are from a video game like GTA or RDR. This is the kind of mindset that those advlts take against GTA and such.

So human cruelty is fine, but may you forever burn in hell (or freeze in hell) if you are cruel towards animals in a game!

It would add to the game-world, so yeah there should be animals where-ever they make sense, imo.

It's like not being able to kill kids in Skyrim. Makes no sense whatsoever, but necessary because some people think it does.

You can kill animals in Skyrim though, I don't see why it would be bad in GTA.

A combine harvester would be fun, but it wouldn't make any sense to see one in LA. Unless it was on display anywhere. I do know that if they put both animals and combine harvesters in then Youtube users are going to see quite a few videos of kids making paste out of Bamby.
How about dragons?

yeah well the main issue is kids should not even be playing the game. but its not like all kids are heavily influenced, i know this for sure.

Given that they did it in RDR, I don't see why there would be any issues, but I just don't see it fitting in, or playing a big enough role to require inclusion.

No, PETA would probably make a big fuss about a game about brutally murdering humans including the option to brutally murder poor little animals.
