Anise's Cabin -Small spoilers?-

Post » Fri May 25, 2012 9:14 am

Hey, I haven't seen this mentioned on here so I thought I'd see if anybody else has found it.

It's a small cabin full of alchemy ingredients and potions just up the river from Riverwood. There's a peaceful old lady sitting in a chair beside the door. It's looks pretty cool.

Spoiler
That is, until you go through the trapdoor beside the bed. There's several more ingredients, a place to make potions and a place to enchant things. Then when you go back out, the old woman will attack you with magic, even if you were sneaking O_o

Spoiler
Items in her house transfer ownership after she dies. To someone named Moira. I presume it's her sister. And/or maybe the Hagraven in A Night to Remember.

It is kinda hard to miss it, well at least I found it. That place is pretty useful at the beginning, and that fight was surprising and fun too.

Spoiler
There's a note in the cellar which reveals she is a witch, which is why when you leave it she says, "No one must know my secret" and attacks you.

killing Anise also seems like a guarantee to get assassins and thugs to come after you.

I'm assuming it's because most people will steal from the house afterwards. Even I did it and I don't steal from anyone. It's not really stealing when they're dead!

not necessarily, one time i stole stuff before killing her and the other time i stole after killing her. Both times i had an assassin waiting for me on my first trip to whiterun.

The Assassin is a randomized event that just happened to happen there it can happen anywhere.

well the letter from the thugs indicates it is from moira, who is apparently anises sister. I guess i assumed she sent them after me for killing her sister.

I disagree, my assassin had a contract from Moira to kill me. I had no clue who that was until I read this thread.

i am not asserting that it is not random. But in my experience i encountered that specific assassin on my 2 playthroughs that killed anise, and did not on my 3 that avoided anise.
