SD announces a new game + video that looks a lot like Brink

Post » Sat May 04, 2013 9:09 pm

Well not to long ago SD announced a new game called "Dirty bomb". It looks a lot like Brink and from what i heard it takes place in Britain. From what i can see it has the same visual looks to the game as brink and there is girl characters this time around. There is also different sizes of people which i would assume is body types. Its pretty sad to see it looks like their scrapping brink and making a recycled version taking some of the elements from the game people liked. I thought the story and abilities and everything tied in well together. They just had to make a more polished version but aparently thats not the case.

One last thing... this is a PC ONLY game. It is also multiplayer only. So yeah console gamers like me wont be getting this game anytime soon... i dont see much success in this game if its PC only. But time will tell. Here is a video of it. Its just a teaser but it looks pretty intrusting.

Seeing as their publisher is WarChest, it's almost certainly going to be free to play.

I have no gaming pc anymore so I'm not going to play this. Leaving the consoles out is just sad. Brink also did much better on PS3/360 if I'm not mistaking. If it was one of the first free to play shooters on consoles it could have been pretty succesfull (if the game is going to be good). The visual style looks a bit like Brink so I assume they use the same engine with crazy textures loading times... It looks like they dropped the "caricature" (is this the right word?) looking characters which makes the looks a bit more generic and more boring. Mehh not very enthusiastic about the game atm. They could have made a better teaser in my opinion. Hopefully some good gameplay footage changes that.

Yeah, from what I've heard it is going to be f2p. Hopefully the hardware requirements won't be high so I can maybe play it on my laptop.

I have two questions. Why the publisher is not Bethesda ? And WHY not id tech 5 ??? Why they change "the team" and go in unreal [censored] engine

Why would you even want Bethesda to be the publisher? They [censored] up pretty much every PS3 release and quit supporting their games. And it's a free2play game so there isn't much in it for the publisher. Bethesda was probably too expensive as a publisher for this game.

From what I have seen in the trailer it looks like the same kind of engine as Brink (modified id Tech 4). So maybe it is the id tech 5 now.. who knows? Both engines are not the best in my opinion though. I hate those long loading textures popping.

I don't think Bethesda nor ZeniMax are the publisher. So probably shouldn't even be here. Try their forums instead...
