ANNOYING Long Intro Every Startup

Post » Sat Jun 26, 2010 9:15 am

Keep in mind I run my system off a SSD so the game technically loads up in 6 seconds, But then I am presented with 19 seconds just to stare at some sort of "eyeball" logo. Then I have to wait for the Crytek 3 splash, EA splash and Nvidia's annoying splash screen. So 43 seconds total just to get to the login screen. About 60 seconds of alt tabbing to reenter product code every time I want to switch to multiplayer (digital download, so cd key is stored in a document). No way to skip all these startup intros. Did the devs even consider how this affects people's experience with the game? Hitting Enter, Esc, left mouse button, my dog have no effect.

I would like to report this post as awesome and true.

And then you have to count how much time it takes you to find a multiplayer ranked game that actually works!

Thanks, Fusion. Still stuck staring at the eyeball for 19 seconds for absolutely no reason I can think of LOL But the intros are gone. Got to be a file I can target and del somewhere. The eye is making me paranoid THEY're WATCHING ME! ;p

At least a config file can be edited here to skip the whole thing. How odd tho, whenever I mention the annoyance of long unskippable intro-logos, I usually get the reaction that I should stop whining. Glad to see I'm not the only one not liking this particular thing. :D

Also, thanks for the config file code. Kudos.
