PS: My savefile size is about 9MB at the moment, and STILL the lag kicks in after SEVERAL (3-7) hours of gameplay, which i solve by just restarting my console and continue playing. Please people, calm down.

PPS: I'm not a really devoted fan by any means, i'm just trying to be optimistic, and i'm growing tired because people are so ungrateful, this is much better than Fallout 3 GOTY edition was, so i'm happy with it.
I'd love to go back to those "after 3 hours of playing" golden days of lag, but for myself (and apparently many others) crippling lag now kicks in within the first hour.

There's a fantastic game underneath it all, but it's hard to feel grateful when you have to reboot the game every 15 minutes. That's not what we paid for.

OK, let's calm down everyone.

I, personally, don't find any problem with the PS3 version - SINCE IT STARTS LAGGING ONLY AFTER 7 HOURS. 7. - Who the hell plays for like 12 hours a day? I did play at max like ummh 9 hours when i got, and what's so bad about resttarting your console AND playing fine and smooth for another 3-7 hours. I mean the game is perfectly playable, i don't get it why there's so much hate towards Bethesda at the moment. I would undertsand if they made the same mistake they made with the Fallout 3 GOTY edition (THAT was unacceptable, worst port ever), but they didn't. I am enjoying Skyrim to the fullest and i certainly don't mind if i have to wait for a minute before continuing (aka restarting the console) after playing for at least 7-10 hours of my day. And i understand that some of us (me included, i usually just stay home and play) don't have jobs or "lives" and such, but still, who the hell plays for like 20 hours a day? Not normal.

i have full faith for Bethesda, i know they can patch this and come through. The game is perfectly playable. i HONESTLY don't understand why you people complain?

PPPS; This is not aimed at anyone in particular, but to everyone at forums complaining about the PS3 version being a crappy port
Thank you

The PS3 version is the crappy version. There isn't any disputing that. Both Lens of Truth and Game Foundry did comparisons and both showed the same results: Unstable framerate, blurred out visuals, unresponsive controls. And while you may think that this isn't a big issue the major thread on Reddit, the forums here, and the comment section of multiple gaming publications would beg to differ. People aren't saying there game becomes unplayable after 7 hours but after an hour or two. There are too many posts and too many videos already up on Youtube to brush this off like its no big deal. There are major issues with the PS3 version and frankly if they are caused by what I'm guessing there isn't going to be a patch because it isn't fixable.

The size of the file where it becomes unbearable varies for people. Some say it got bad at 6, some say 10, some say 12.

Personally, my file size is 12 MB, and when I start the game up, slight frame rate dips are there in the beginning, nothing too bad. After only 15 minutes of gameplay, any battle with 5+ people is a slide show. Same goes for any major city. You call that a playable game?

Just wait, your game will become as bad as ours before too long and you will understand.

Yes, i will wait. Hopefully you're wrong, but this far i haven't had any real problems.

Yes, that's true, it is amazing. But yes, i shall wait and see what happens. Just voiced my opiinion and experience with the game thus far.

Then, what do you think that causes it?

I am blessed with patience.

I never bought this game. I've looked at the 360 section and see not one reported problem on freezes/lagging but I shall wait for this update because I love the PS3 controller and I'd rather play on the PS3.

Yep, i'm sure they will fix it. But if they don't AND if my game keeps getting worse (up to the state of others) i will make sure Bethesda won't get even a coin from me, ever again.

While I love Skyrim so far. . .

THIS MAKES ME FURIOUS!

Honestly, my issues are just getting worse and worse. Finally, I get an answer.

Bethesda, I hope you're hearing the pleas of your PS3 fans. We love the game, but how can we not feel cheated? The differences are painfully clear, and I hope you're doing something to alleviate the issue.

Just some quick thoughts,

since about November 12th, I have put in about 54 hours. Severaly giant plays - 12 hours or so without the system going off and yes, it gets rather unplayable. It was extremely laggy entering white run all the time. So I tested a few things out and it worked quite well.

1. Signing off the Playstation Network and keeping it like so while you're playing.
2. Sync your trophies.
3. Delete your web browsing cookies, history, and cache.
4. If you have a follower in Skyrim, get rid of them for a while.
5. Turn your system off and on periodically throughout a large play through.

Honestly, after doing all of this, my game ran like brand new which was perfect. I'm not saying that the internet has anything to do with this, I'm not saying Lydia or whoever has anything to do with this, I'm not saying acquiring trophies has anything to do with this. I'm simply stating a lot of these things fixes a ton of problems on the PS3 for a lot of games. This systems processor was built in a unique way and most developers can't utilize that on a ported title. That's just the plain damn truth. By doing what I did, even with a 8,000kb save file and 54 hours logged, I'm running perfectly fine. Try it for yourself.

Those are my two sceptims.

You made it sound like you're really an as*hole..no offense, but think next time, ok? I found that to be very rude and kinda selfish statement, but whatever. I think we all have lifes, some just like to spend it on Skyrim, you just pointed it out kinda douch-y :)

The whole intention of that post was to come across as [censored], I wanted to provoke a reaction to draw people to the overriding point, that the large amount of time they spend playing the game affects its overall perfromance. It's not meant to be like that, but if you cut down the time you play, and get a girlfriend, you won't have any trouble.

Ok, that last part about getting a girlfriend was trolling, but the point remians.

Nevermind, you read it wrong. Had to do with a post above yours and I can't be bothered explaining my sad attempt at humor. It's 2am and me thinks I've had too many beers...

So, here we stand again. The PS3-version, despite promises of equal quality, comes off as the most broken and less-stable copy. I′ve been through this before with several multi-platform games. It really svcks when it happens, and im so tired of it I hardly have the energy to get upset anymore. I have both Xbox 360 and PS3, but I prefer playing on the PS3 (the 360 is great aswell), and even though i hade my share of concerns I went with the PS3-version..

And here we stand again, damnit. I′ve invested 35 hours into the game now, and for every save and hour the game keeps getting worse. It started of good and had it′s share of framerate-dips and bugs, but I could live with that. As of now, though, I am reaching a point where the games glitches and dips is taking away the fun of it. I am sick of watching slideshows every large battle, sick of the game freezing on me, sick of the stutter when riding my horse, sick of it taking away the joy of playing an absolutely amazing game.

I have faith in Bethseda fixing this problem, because of right now, I am really disappointed and sad about the outcome. I love the game and everything about it, but on the other hand I feel pissed on. I bought it for $60, and the least I can demand as a costumer is that it actually works.

Exactly my position. I've invested so many hours in it I'm not sure I could handle starting again.

But my game is becoming unplayable

So the new update we get is "Tell us what your problem is" and the official PR stance is "Not many people affected." This is the same [censored] all over again.
