Another PS3 User. Same Old Issues.

Welp, my game ran just fine until my save file hit 10 MB. Then at 11 MB, it's nearly unplayable. It used to just give me a bit of lag in big cities. Out in the world, and in dungeons the game ran perfectly. Now, it lags EVERYWHERE. it's nearly impossible to run through a city. If i try to sprint, it becomes slideshowville. I still have a ton of locations to go through, and those are just the ones i've discovered. This is ridiculous. And I KNOW it isn't the PS3 that is the issue.

On these forums there are a ton of upset PS3 players that are complaining of this issue. A number of people said they have 11 to 15 Mb saves on a number of games, and they run just fine. Including things like dragon age, another big RPG. No other game has this issue except the fallout games and Skyrim. 54 hours in, and everything goes to crap. I've noticed that shouts nearly NEVER work. I am repeatedly hitting the button, and it wont work. When i dual wield, the right hand weapon doesnt swing about 8 out of 10 times i hit it. But if i do a dual power attack it will. ?!?!?!?. Randomly quests wont complete right away, or people wont be where the quest marker says they are. It's like the more I play, the more the game deteriorates. I am very upset that a game that would most likely be my favorite ever is now unplayable. I could start a new character to fix this...BUT WHATS THE POINT? It will only start happening again once i hit 10 Mb. For most players it happened around 5-7 MB. What upsets me the most is FO3 and NV had the SAME issue, and Bethesda must have known about it, but did nothing to fix it for the PS3 copy.

They claim the patch coming i guess next week will fix this, and if it does, even if if i have to start a new character to benefit, I'll be ok with it. Since i was going to start a new character soon anyway for doing content i didn't do with my current character. But if it doesnt fix it period, and i dont see any change in peoples experiences reading the forums, then im trading this in and getting dragon age with the dlc or DA II...At least bioware clearly knows how to code their games for ALL platforms, and not screw over PS3 gamers. If my pc could run the game (i doubt it can) i would get it in steam. But i have no option.

BTW I have done everything people have suggested as temporary fixes. it helped for awhile when lag was just starting up, but once i hit 10MB, it didn't matter any longer.

I'm bumping to give an update. So I have just done something that took away MOST lag for me. It still occurs a little in big cities, but out in the open world and in dungeons, i have no noticeable lag.

I deleted the game data that is required by the game to be installed. Launched the game, and it installed the data again. Now, my game is performing much better. Apparently this might fix the issue because of cacheing issues with the game. If it occurs again, and this patch doesnt fix the issue, i guess i know what to do...annoying that you have to do this, but i can report that it is working for me for now.
