Any chance we can get a fix for blessing of nature bug?

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 11:08 am

While i love the game the gildergreen bug has been a serious annoyance to me for the last few months. I figured this would be patched by now, but it still remains. I heard pc users could work around this , however ive yet to spot any fixes work arounds ect.. For xbox users.

Upon completing the quest you get change the appearance of the tree in white run. Either replace it with a new sapling or restore it to its former glory. If you replace it the sapling just spawns within the tree making it look really weird. When you replace the tree its supposed to just show the sapling.

Or is it, maybe it's a magic tree?

No its a pretty well documented bug thats been around since day one of the game. Like I said it is clearly a bug, the sapling is within the trunk of the dead tree. Seems like it would be an easy thing for them to fix, but still nothing.

I never noticed something weird about it. Apart from that, isn't it even possible to grow a plant ontop of another plant as long as they're somehow related?

On top of sure but not inside of. You've got 9 or so branches with blossoms clipping through the side of a dead tree for goodness sakes.

Ok. So it was either never screwed up for me like that or I have failed to notice for months.

Yeah, I finished the quest by bringing the sapling back, and all I remember is the next time I went through there I looked and thought "Oh nice they planted the sapling." Nothing looked weird to me, but then I wasn't looking for anything weird.

I'll have to check it out a little more closely next time I'm in Whiterun.

I always figured out that Danica had taken the sap out of the sapling to restore the big tree...

The unofficial patch fixes this, but because it's a 3rd party mod, that only works on the PC.

It has been like in the "bugged" picture for me in at least 3 playthroughs with totally different characters... I wouldn't have known it was a bug if not for this post! :o

Ah, I was just about to say I'm pretty sure what I saw in Whiterun was the "unbugged" tree from the second picture in the earlier post. I'm using the unofficial patch so that would explain it.

As ive said it is a minor bug but it really distracts from the game for me. I would really like to see it fixed if possible.

It's a very minor bug anyway; not game breaking at all. I'll live with it.

It may not be "game breaking" but it is annoying and something that should be easy to fix. It is very distracting to someone like me who enjoys seeing the results of his quests.

No, in my game it's the old tree that revives, not the young hidden inside the old one.

i have only done the quest like 4 times and i never cared to look at the tree afterwards because...well it is a tree...guarded by a priest which makes it doubly useless to me

I just went for its a magic tree to explain the problem, it was annoying but after a while I never even noticed it. Although the sapling seemed like the better idea, my second character went for collecting the sap and now Whiterun has a very nice Gildergreen tree instead of an unnatural disaster. They should have just put the sapling next to the old tree, I am sure it would have survived, or find another location for it. Or stick an extra cutscene in there showing someone chopping the dead one down, or burning it to make way for the new tree. Either way from now on I collect the sap, and the spriggans can just kill the humans.

I won't even do the sapling end to this quest because of the bug.
