Any chance of Demo with Steam Pre-purchase?

The game is available for pre-purchase on Steam. Is there a demo planned to be released to those who pre-ordered?

A pre-order demo? Haven't heard of that one before. So far there is no word on a demo at all apart from the upcoming gaming shows and conventions.

I would really regret being a console game participant if this happened.

It's kinda contradicting itself.

"Hey, wanna play our game that you know nothing about? Well now you can try it out, but only if you it first." What?

And what if you cancelled...yeah I don't see why they wouldn't just release it for all.

We might get one after all so fingers crossed. Like I've said before it isn't very likely but definitely not impossible. We'll see what call they'll make.

I think a demo for this kind of game is essential. I really hope they release one a month or so before it ships.

And if they don't?

There's going to be a glimpse into a whole new level tonight. There are two different sections floating around in shows right now. Which one do they choose? Adding to that, in a game where the pride is multiple playthroughs and the quickest experience can be 12 hours---how do you distribute a demo that needs a solid mission which can take anywhere from fifteen minutes to hours without diluting the full game once it's released? It's simultaneously too big and small to sustain that model of exposure. As much as I'd love one because the wait is hard, it doesn't seem plausible to me. If the demo is buggy for some reason but those same bugs aren't present in the game when it's released, doesn't that make the demo harmful instead of beneficial for sales? There's a lot of factors in play that can be avoided by sticking to the same means of relaying data they've been doing while maintaining the buzz it still holds. I think this is the best approach for them.

Isn't GW2 FTP initially? With the proposition mentioned here, you buy the game before demoing it because the demo becomes an incentive for buying the game. It's a Catch-22 the equivalent of Ouroboros (sp?)

The only playable demos I've seen on Steam were open to everyone, not limited to people who pre-ordered. I suppose it's a sort of marketing tool to convince people to try it and then buy the game.

Haven't heard any official word regarding the possibility of a demo, but I wouldn't necessarily rule it out yet.

I guess if any of the levels would be on offer, it'd be TGC. Would not mind being wrong about the pitfalls and no demo one bit. Hope to be.

Honestly I think they can do a demo for the this game easily.Put the Golden Cat as one,all should good then.

Since the entire game is based on missions and individual levels it won't be hard to put out one.
