Any confirmation on PC users getting the Sandbox editor in a

Post » Sat Jun 26, 2010 8:54 am

Since there have been numerous disappointing details out about the multiplayer, I'm wondering if the Sandbox editor will be there for in all it's power for PC users to use like in Crysis 1? If so, then obviously all these short comings will be mended rather easily by our brilliant modding community.

(i.e; small maps only infantry can be fixed by making new maps)

Obviously, dedicated servers will need to be in place as well to allow said mending to take place.
(i.e; increase the server var. for max players to go beyond 6v6.)

Are the two confirmed for the PC?

We haven't made an Official statement yet regarding Sandbox. As soon as we have more information to give you, you will hear it here first!

Thanks Lee, I appreciate the response.

By the way the game is looking great and all, just I was expecting more players and pilot-able vehicles but still the game does look great still.

I don't think they would show us all this sandbox 3 videos if they werent gonna give it to us. They might have a licensing system but we all know that crytek likes their mod community.

The main reason for me to get the game...(ps3)

I think its obvious that they give us Sandbox editor with all its power, because why not? And maybe some awesome modders will be able to make gameplay more like in Crysis 1, (if Crysis 2 gonna be slow and no-skill/noob friendly game as it looks to be on the videos), but still mods wont be as popular as original game even if they gonna be brilliant...

Looking at farcry2 i don`t agree, The custom maps are way more popular then the standard maps...

It would be nice if the mods are playable on all platforms...

you think Crysis 2 MP looks slow and no-skill?? I think Crysis MP and Crysis Wars was pretty slow... it took ages to kill somebody. I liked the aspect of taking factorys, alien sites etc and eventually destroy the enemies HQ (how epic is that? ^^) but the fights themself were pretty lame :-X when I played the Crysis 2 MP during the GamesCom however it was pretty fast also because it hat more close combat. Therefore killing someone was much more about skill because you had to react quickly etc. and not so much about camping in some bushes on a hill like in Crysis 1 :-X

And I also hope that we will get the Sandbox Editor for Crysis 2 as well, but I'm pretty sure they'll give it to us

Crysis 2 certainly looks slower than Crysis. If Crysis 2 was faster paced to you, then you were obviously playing Crysis the wrong way. Grab a laser and circle jump, and its pace is just fine.

I doubt that WOULDNT release the editor, as there are so many videos on it, they still run Crymod, and they've said they will continue to support the modding community.

It might not come on the disc like Far Cry or Crysis 1 and could be released later (like wars), but I REALLY doubt they would withhold the editor from the PC community.
