There are loads of great armor sets, but every robe I have seen looks stupid. Am I wrong?

Nope, you are right. The robes svck for the most part. Only one I like is the black necromancer's robe with the faded design on the front. Check out the clothes shop in Solitude, they might have something you like... but I doubt it.

Well on the Dragonborn General Discussion thread, there was a guy talking about Temple Priest Robes. I went on Youtube and found it, they are pretty cool.

If you have the pc version, you can use the console to give yourself psijic robes, which look badass.

Problem I find is that there are not many robes for mages that aren't already enchanted, unlike armour sets which seem to be abundent in plain form. I prefer to enchant my own outfits but find this extremely difficult to do with my mage as there are so few decent robes available.
