Hey guys so i want my Nord character to be from one of the small villages in skyrim and was wondering if there are any houses that one could take in those places.

You could live in Riverwood. Whoever you side with at the start, will take you to see their family there, and you can take all the stuff / sleep in a bed. I couldn't say if the containers are safe, but other than that, it would work.

the only houses you can buy and own are in the main cities, however if you marry someone your suppose to be given the option to live in the NPC house, so if you marry a village person that might be a way.

i imagine each town will get +1 house in it, and the barman in the town's tavern would sell it to you for a price or something like that.

Yeah, if you do the main quest for that city you will have access to Alva's house. It doesn't become yours but you can sleep there.
