Any Imperials use Voice of the Emperor?

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 5:13 pm

I've used it a few times - it made a mess inside a building! - but doesn't seem very useful. I can see it's usage to stop a group of attackers if you're in trouble, but if they're part of a quest you have to take them on anyway. I rely on potions to restore health and stamina, so it doesn't appear useful to my player's style, though I'd be interested in hearing how others use it for some tips!

I have used it a few times on my Imperial. It is useful when one is outmatched against humanoid opponents. Unsure if it works on animals.

I've used it once or twice. I'm not a huge fan of it to be honest; feels a little overpowered.

I used to use voice of the emperor... but then I took a ----- punches self in face.

But seriously I used it once when the guards wouldn't let me yield and pay my fines.

Only time I use it is in the big room full of stormcloak/imperial soldiers in Helgen. Get them to follow me, charge to the oil, use power, SET EET ON FIREEEE.

BOOOOM.

Voice of the Emperor is powerful. For the sneaky types it provides a much needed reprieve to allow you to crawl back to the shadows and reapply your sneak attack bonuses, and for everyone else it gives you a minute to recuperate if things aren't going so well. For that downtime, it allows you to focus on one at a time.

Sadly, there are only a few fights in the game when you are ambushed...but for those instances (I'm looking at you bandit who wants me to escort him back to camp, and you too kematu), it's epic.

I'd love to know if it is effected by illusion perks, much like how fire spells are effected by the fear perk.

Eh... Its dynamics are similar to the Nord's battle cry. They are weaker versions of Illusion spells for the most part.

I use it on my Legionaire when I attack Stormcloak outposts so I don't have an angry Stormcloak lieutenant chasing me across Skyrim. (Why are they essential?!)

Nope.

I hate the idea of characters having once per day super powers just because of their race. It's a stupid gimmick that makes no sense. Normal abilities, like High Elves being naturally more adept at magic would suffice.

There are mods for that if you're on PC.
But it is really dumb that they are essential, I really doubt they are there for a DLC or something. Just a stupid oversight, but it svcks.

That's a really good idea actually. I was pissed when I tried to seige an encampment and found that they are essential.

I could be wrong but I thought Voice of the Emperor was a weaker version of an Expert level illusion spell. That's hardly weak.

I used Voice of the Emperor once. In Morrowind.

I forget about the Racial Powers and tend to never use them in the game.

I used it a couple times when i was low level on my imperial. It worked great when i would be going through a bandit fort and run into a marauder with a battleaxe- real good to stop that battle and run.

Once per day is a downer. I think I used it twice in one playthrough (130+hours).
