Classic Mega Man, although I guess fans of X, Legends, etc are alright too.

Just curious if there are any fans of the Blue Bomber.

I'm actually a big fan of the Megaman X series as well as Megaman Legends/64.

I'm not crazy about the classic version. Hes too "under-wear-ie"

I love Mega Man, but I'm super terrible at the Classic series. It doesn't ruin my enjoyment of the games, but it is a little embarrassing that I have to horde E-Tanks. :P

It's really disappointing that Capcom has essentially disowned the series after Inafune left. One of the closest characters Capcom has to a mascot and they're gonna let the IP rot. :(

Ye olde ones, yes. And the new olde ones too (9 and 10) :hehe: Never really got into the X series and whatever came after that, to me Megaman is still that blue-striped sprite shooting at robots ^_^

You mean DnB?

And yeah, I remember snarling at my screen when I was 12, trying to finish Mega Man 2 but always being knocked into the abyss by that damn Mecha Dragon!

Lets see, I play Mega Man 1 and 2 for NES and it was awesome.

Then Zero came about and I ALWAYS pick him over the X in the X-series. Then I play his series in the GBA and love it.

Play Battle Network 1 and 4 and it was interesting to say though I love the take of a what-if scenario if human choose internet over robots in a Megaman Universe.

That says, I consider Megaman X4 to be my favorite of the series; great amount of sound track, an interesting take of what it means to be a Hunter and a Maverick, and a couple of fun stages.

I do not support original Rockman, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lnogpRPvY4

At least X and Zero were a bit more responsible. The Zero series will probably remain my favorite in the foreseeable future.

I played a few of the "X" games on the original Playstation, simple enough fun :).

However, I absolutely loved the Legends games. In fact, they are easily in my top 5 favorite games that I've ever played. When I heard that Legends 3 was in development, I was totally ecstatic until I found out that it was only going to be on 3DS. Even when it got canceled, I was still depressed even though I knew I'd never play it on 3DS :(.

Why just Mega Man 3? Sure, it is one of if not the best of the originals (MM2 gets overhyped), but that doesn't mean, at least to me, that some of the other classics aren't worth playing. MM5 is worth going through as well in my opinion at least, even if it is noticeably easier than 3. Also, MM9 and MM10 are pretty fun if you're into the classic gameplay.

I'm a fan of the first 3 Mega Man's, used to play those as a kid.

I could probably, with enough booze, tolerate 4 and 5, but that's pretty much it -- gets a bit redundant at this point. I still love the soundtracks to 2 and 3.

So I tried the game today actually. It is pretty fun. If I could figure out how to play it with a controller (the machine I'm on has ubuntu so I'm not going try to tinker around) I would have a lot of fun. The game seems pretty solid although the implementation of the dashing mechanic makes it not quite classic mega man.

Played through MM4, said F it and gave Rokko Chan another try... I'm really digging it. Although the Ice Shield is a little broken. Its no jewel shield but its up there.

Well, all the weapons have a lot of weapon energy and are useful. MM9 all over again. Game starts getting quite a bit easier when you progress.

When I was a kid I had several of them for the NES and more for the Game Boy. I never got good enough at the earlier releases to beat any of them... they kept me coming back, though. To be honest, I'd play anything back then. In my teenage gamer years I played X and X2 on the SNES and then got the whole X - X6 game pack for my PS2... All in all a very good game series. I agree with wingus... I can't believe Capcom has let their mascot die.

Because it's the one I have the cartridge for. I've played all of them, but 3 is the one I feel most at home with. While the others are good, they just can't compete with the awesome level design 3 has.

Loved the X series for how it went into a darker realm of dealing with true AI robots overtaking the world. After X4 I just lost interest to be honest since they seemed to be rehashed games with X7 and X8 I believe being the worst. Really want to see an X9 game done in the X1 to X4 style but that probably won't happen. Read somewhere that capcom fired the guy that basically invented Megaman so that story is out the window as far as i'm concerned unless they get someone super brilliant.

It was an interesting gimmick at first, the whole "hardcoe Mega Man" thing, but IMO, you can only do so much with that. Especially with the voice acting Capcom put into the later games, yuck.

I lost interest after X4, same as you.

The Classic series retains my interest though, simply because the story is minimal so the "re-hashing" of said story isn't a big deal. I'm liking how Protoman has been given main protagonist now. Hopefully in MM11, if it ever comes, the trend continues. Also, I wouldn't mind seeing Bass come back as well. 3 difficulty settings and 3 characters makes for a nice large variety of play throughs along with the new focus on "achievement runs" which I actually find enjoyable. Gunning for and completing the Mr. Perfect achievement really lets you get a deeper appreciation of the games.

Did someone say Megaman?

(the Minecraft community here can testify on how much Megaman is awesome to me)

I recently found a copy of Megaman Legends PS1 Black Label. HAD to buy it. Mine got stolen years ago and this game is rare as [censored]. Now I just need MML2, which is even rarer (it got stolen too).

If Capcom can pull its head out of its ass, we might get MML3. But no, they're too focused on "Super Street Fighter 4 Ultimate Hyper Legendary Downloadable Online Special Tournament Edition".
