Any mods that make nights darker without ruining contrast?

Post » Fri May 25, 2012 2:02 pm

Realistic Lighting seems to make everything look a lot harsher and the contrast seems way too high.

I would like night time to be darker, but I don't want the daytime to be altered at all and I don't want the contrast to be increased.

Any mod to do this?

THANKS! :3

Have you tried changing the settings for realistic lighting? It's very customizeable.

Use the vailla ini and adjust the night time settings accordingly...
Probably your best bet.

Install the vanilla folder under the defaults.
After that, there's only one ini that the mod added that you should mod.
realisticlighting.ini

After that, run the java jar file and active both esps.

Just a note, the fullscreen contrast is actually decreased to 1.0 (accurate value) from 1.4 in vanilla, it's just the sunlight multiplier that's increased. If the only thing you dislike about the non-vanilla version is the difference between shadow and sunlight brightness, you can just set the "multiply" setting in the config to 0.5 or something for sunlight. You might want to set the multiply setting for the sky to 0.75 or similar too. It's less stuff to change than making the nights darker.
