They better do, otherwise I still won't be able to play the game. Even after this patch, it continues to freeze a lot as it was before. This patch meant nothing to me.

I don't believe there's any way to patch the freezing, as there's no specific trigger for it (unless you have a specific trigger in which case you may want to share that on the board). If it's just random freezing throughout the wastes, this is an issue that a fair number of people are experiencing but also a fair number of people are not experiencing, and has been an issue with many games on this engine. The engine itself seems to be a bit of a resource hog for some systems, and if your system is getting older or not well ventilated or has any other issues, that could be part of the problem (I know you may not have other games that freeze like this, so I'll agree with you right now I don't believe it's your systems fault, at least not 100% of the fault lies there).

You should try a few things:
- Clear your system cache
- Clear the game cache
- Install the game to your HDD (if you have one and it's not, could be that your optical disc drive has seen better days and can't keep up with this particular game)
- Uninstall the game from your HDD (if it's already on there, could be that your HDD has seen better days and can't keep up with this particular game)

If after all that you've noticed absolutely no change, then I'm not sure what to tell you. If every single person had freezing as frequent, I'd be able to say "yep it's definitely the game", but there's a lot of people on the discussion boards that seem to have a pretty playable game, so I would say freezing issues are the game coupled with some other factor.

Personally, any patch they now release would just be an additional bonus in my opinion. I've had two freezes in almost 40 hours. Which backs up Buckleys post. It isn't consistent enough. I waited from EU release date for 1.2 to eventually boot up the game, and I'm so glad as I don't regret anything. Besides the random framerate drops, it's running perfectly for me. Just two tips which seem to be helping me -

- LB, RB and X together as soon as you boot up the game. I tend to do it from the credits, and hold until it prompts you to press start. Be sure to do this everytime you boot the game up.

- If you notice freezing/stuttering, dashboard and repeat the first step. Installing to your HDD is a huge bonus, if you have the space required.

Pretty much repeating Buckley, but it works at least for me. I completely understand that others are having problems, but I just can't see how when my game is running so well.

I just wish they would patch the arms thing that happens all the time. Also I'm now getting vats weirdness which is random at best. like Vats slowing down to a crawl.

I would also like to know the answer to this.

It is a waste of time and effort for us to document the bugs here in the forums if they have no plans of doing anything about them.

- Clear the game cache

what is this? i only have (KNOCK ON WOOD!) the stupid arms going up and down issue and i want to know what this does. this is the 1st time i am reading of this code to enter when the game boots up.
and/or how do you clear the game cache? i have done the system cache clear a bunch of times already.
is the first red highlight the same as clear game cache? and is that how it is done?

It won't solve the "arms going up and down" issue as far as I know, so if you're not having any other problems, your best bet is to leave things alone and not clear the cache. If that's the worst the game has thrown at you, don't worry about cache. Yes the "code" he mentions is the way to clear game cache..

is there a message that confirms the clearing of the game cache? holding lb,rb,X does it say that it clears the game cache or is it "just do that and it works?"
i may call BS on this

Thanks for the attention man. I've tried some of this tips but it didn't work. It freezes every minute and specially at the Legion's camp every 10 sec. My xbox is just a year old, so I don't think it is the console. I never had any issues like this with any other game, even fallout 3 and oblivion, which were huge games too. Thanks anyway.
