Any problems with mods and new patch?

Post » Thu May 17, 2012 9:44 pm

So I downloaded most all of the recommended mods from here: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11

Is there any reason why the new patch from Bethesda wouldn't play nice with these mods?

Best to try it and see, seeing as how the patch just came out.

Most of STEP is a texture replacer and INI settings so most will work.

By then compatibility may be known, so do a quick scan then if you like.

Also, while we're talking patches and compatibility, it has been said that a soon to come patch will add LAA support by default to the game. That may cause issues for folks using workarounds.

Don't suppose there is anyway we could start a sticky thread that specifically addressed problems with mods and official patches. That way if anybody discovers an issue they can report it and we can figure out how to fix the issue. It could be helpful to many.

Won't happen because compatibility deals mainly with how the individual mod is written.

You won't get any response from Bethesda on this. Any ESP files that have been generated are not going to be considered valid. This is why impatience in the community is harmful. Changes in the game systems can invalidate file formats. They can remove unused features in the code. They can introduce new ones to replace bad ones. They may simply have updated the supported plugin version number. Expecting the game to continue to be at peace with these things when the CK isn't out for another 2 months is entirely unrealistic. UI mods will be reliant on the game executable so they may break too.

Stick to texture mods. There's no real reason those should have broken.

So what other than the exe has been changed with the 1.3 update.

Like with 1.2 it was also interfaces.bsa.

Any clues.

Also I find it amusing that people went to ScriptDragon for fear or SKSE needing to be updated too often.

Checking the script dragon thread would've probably been easier than posting in this thread? Anyway, he said it will be updated tomorrow.

So most of what I have is just texture stuff, except for this http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=180 (iCCC ENB - Natural Shader Injector by TheCompiler) and this http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1013 (4GB Skyrim by Monochrome Wench)

I will be trying to jump into Skyrim here in a little while to see what happenes. Any reason why 4GB Skyrim by Monochrome Wench, or iCCC ENB - Natural Shader Injector by TheCompiler would have issues with the patch?

Played for a few hours last night. Had no issues. Don't think there is a problem. Just thought I would mention that.
