Any risks involved with Severin Manor?

Post » Sun Feb 03, 2013 9:51 pm

I just got Severin Manor and I was wondering if its save to use the mannequins and weapon racks. I dont wanna use them and then lose all my rare weapons and armor. I have heard of a few issues but have you guys experienced any trouble?

It has been for me, although the mannequins keep respawning old armor.

I put two of the new Dragon Priest masks on one of my mannequins and then put all Miraak's gear over top of that, thinking I could use the mannequin for armor storage like any other mannequin in vanilla Skyrim, but sometime later my masks disappeared. I'm glad it was the masks and not Miraak's mask, although admittedly Miraak's mask was far worse than both, but still.

Just be careful not to put excess gear on the mannequins and you should be fine.

Nothing respawns, the mannequins still make free armor, display cases work the same as the Hearthfire ones and all the storage is safe. You cannot get rid of two of the skulls in the third display case.

I have enchanted weapons in the weapon racks? They are just as safe as any other weapon racks. If you have trouble with your enchanted weapons it is possibly because the display coding was altered when they fell through a display case. Some Orc weapons come with demented display code, and keening and a few other unique weapons refuse to behave with weapon racks and plaques. That is not the fault of the weapon rack. if a weapon does not display properly in one house, it will not in any house.

You do not use mannequins to store stuff, there are plenty of containers for that.

Mannequins eat the dragon priest masks. The mannequins are creepy and like to move a leg at a time or maybe their whole body 1 meter from where they should be. Also they duplicate armour.

The Mannequins have evolved into living creatures. They have a different pose everytime you enter the home. Wouldnt suprize me if eventually every mannequin in game moved out of every home to create their own settlement in somewhere in Skyrim.

The new home is definately awesome, well for me it is. I'm waiting abit to decorate/place the new found items in there. (hoping for game patch)

The chests are safe also the weapon plaques. I really like the many many weapon plaques just above the enchantment table.

Whichever Dev created that area needs to be bought lunch for an entire month (thankyou).

Also many barrels all around for storage definately like that.

It's dark but just use iron kettles and drop 1 torch inside the kettle to bring in more light.

The home has everything you need including smithing.

Only wish I could hire a steward for the place. And a big massive library with a fireplace.

Also wish there was a ton of weapon plaques in the smithing room and wish the new home were placed high up above the town overlooking the ocean.

I think the home is better then hearthfire homes but that is just IMO.
