I found this watch hiking off-trail in the forest. All I know is that it's a Swiss Army watch. If you have any idea what this watch may be, spit it out!

To be fair there's isn't much that can't be made out from the picture. If there's anything vital that isn't shown in the picture somebody could always ask in a post.

OMG, you found my dad's old watch! He lost it hiking off-trail in the exact same forest! (Actually, without all the details being shown, I can imagine it being my father's old watch).

But seriously, your picture doesn't give enough details for anyone to tell anything.

At least look at both front and back for any lettering or numbers, brand name, etc, because otherwise your picture is kind of useless. It's PROBABLY not a very valuable watch, for someone to have lost it in the woods, but you never know.

It's when it comes out of China that you get a crappy watch that can't even keep its seconds.

Could be, yeah, definitely looks more like that than the Wenger logo.

Also I feel so cheap about mine. It was a joke for a while that I was a rich bastard for having a $500 watch when I actually got it for free from my great uncle. :sweat:

What info do you need? The back just says Swiss Army Brand, Swiss Made, and Water Resistant.

Do you see a brand on it at all? That might help.

Swiss Army. Victorinox me thinks.

Not that I'd be able to tell just by looking at it. The crystal feels like it could be glass.

I mean for the mechanism itself; most watches have something somewhere that will say like "Sapphire crystal" or something of the sort.

Can you seee the mechanism? If not, it's *probably* not an automatic mechanical (which would up the value), though I'm also not familiar with Victorinox.

It's not hard to tell I don't know anything about watches.

I don't see anything on the watch that says what the crystal is. I cannot see the mechanism.

The hands look like they're from a Timex, but that symbol looks like Swiss Army or Victorinox. Not positive on the model, but shouldn't it be printed on the back or the inside where the battery sits?

And that's not even that expensive among watches. You can easily shell out a few to several thousand dollars for high-end time pieces.

I wish my parent's exploited me as a child --- modeling, movies, whatever --- so I could be super rich and buy stupidly expensive clothing accessories.

Cheap, duarble, and rugged timex digital I've had for years. It works. It's new actually. I had another timex I've owned since I was a wee little child and the wrist strap couldn't even fit. Its battery lasted like 10 years. The next battery only lasted around 8. Then the band finally snapped one day and I figured it was time to retire the old skuffed and worn out thing. Still have the clock face for it around here somewhere. My new watch is nowhere near as good. I've only had it for three and a half years and the battery has died once already.

I have a Moeris stopwatch that doesn't work, is missing its glass, and a bit (one or two square mm) of enamel has been damaged

; a Unicorn (17 jewel, mechanical, inscription dates it to '65); an Lavina (17 jewel, mechanical); a digital Seiko; an electronic anologue Seiko. I didn't pay for any of them :biggrin:
