ANy way to disable Bethesda logo?

Post » Wed Jul 18, 2012 11:26 am

Is there any way to disable the Bethesda logo when you start the game up? Been doing a lot of Creation Kit work, and hopping in and out of game to test. Would help a lot if that wasn't there.

It'd be more helpful if I could just hit the escape button and skip it like you could with every other game QQ

Don't want to see the Bethesda logo movie every time you run the game? There's a simple trick to disable it. Navigate to Steam > steamapps > common > skyrim > Data > Video, and you'll see a single file named BGS_Logo.bik. Create a new folder in this directory named "BGS_Logo", then drag and drop BGS_Logo.bik into said folder. No more intro movie.

I don't use the site this was posted on, but got it off a quick google search. It describes what to do better than I could.

It's an image.

Probably stuffed in one of those .bsa files.

It's actually a video file. Yeah, checked for myself. It's in the video folder of the Skyrim Data Files.

Removing that skips that part of the intro?

Works for every intro video: give the original file a new extension (i always use .old), make a new text file and rename it to the same as the video file. The file is empty so the game can't do anything with it.

It does redownload the file every time Bethesda patches the game, but other than that it's a perfect solution.
