Anyone bothered by the overpopulation of nords?

Post » Thu May 10, 2012 3:14 pm

That Nords would be the majority of population was an obvious fact. But I almost NEVER meet any Kahjiits, Argonians and Bretons for that matter. And I haven't seen a single female Orc yet.

I only wonder if someone feels the same way!

Cheers everyone, hope you enjoy the game as much as I do!

Yeah, I guess not many other races would want to move to Skyrim unlike Cyrodil

Morrowind made Vvardenfell seem like a whole continent, not an isolated island.

I like the fact Skyrim really seems like a small portion of Tamriel and the race populations reflect this.

But I get your point.

Well right now Skyrim isn't exactly paradise. Many people do not want to move here.

It's not the surplus of Nords that bothers me, it's the lack of other races like Orcs, not many in the city, but Skyrim isn't like Cyrodiil which was a cultural hub and had all 10 races all over, so I guess it fits the Skyrim lore more, I'm also guessing there are only human children in the game, not sure but it looks like it.

It's cool for me. It's even more precious to meet Bretons, Khajiits and especially Argonians (which are in Windhelm, from what I heard...) and it's fun. And well, Skyrim is the home for Nords. It's cold too, so it's obvious there are only Nords there.

Well, it's cold there. And only Nords are resistant to Frost!

its just disappointing, because it was awesome seeing all the races in oblivion. they're so well designed in this game, and im itching to interact with them!

I think it fits the Nords' xenophobia in this game. Also the borders are closed, so there would be no immigrants. It makes encounters with beast races much more interesting and unique. I haven't even seen an Argonian yet, and the only Khajit I've met is the one at the College of Winterhold.

I've seen tons of Khajiit, they have small camps outside of most cities because the Nords won't let them in. As for Argonians and Orcs, I haven't seen them except as generic bandits or highway robbers. I've seen a few Breton shopkeepers, but not many High Elves or Wood Elves. Only a few Redguards too.

Yeah the other races are very rare. I only have run into 1 Argonian, 3 Khajiit, and a hand full of Orcs and Elves.

It is curious why there aren't more Bretons or Orcs since their homelands are so close. You haven't seen a female Orc yet? I haven't seen an Orc yet period.

Idk where you guys are wandering off too, but I've been in 1 settlement and 1 town, and I've seen plenty of Dunmer, Redguard, Breton, Imperials. Seen some Khajiit, Altmer and Bosmer. Have yet to find an Argonian and an Orc.

I've only met a single Argonian and he tried to mug me. I think I eradicated the entirety of Skyrim's Argonian population. :whistling:

It only makes sense that the majority of the population is the native race - especially in a rugged area such as Skyrim. Not to mention the war, and now dragons... I don't think many are wanting to move to Skyim right now.

This is the land of the nords. Think of a time when we can play each province in a single massive game. Now think of what it would be like to enter the homeland of a race without a dominance of the race. It wouldn't be their province anymore, now would it? Speaking of, I heard that the argonians took over morrowind, but I'm not sure if it's true.

Quite the opposite really. The weather in Skyrim svcks, people who live there are there because they are forced to; either by birth or bad luck.

Also, the Nords aren't exactly the most open-minded people out there and the era in which Skyrim takes place isn't exactly the most enlightened time.
The other races are out there, it's just that most of them aren't welcome to buy property in the city and you only find them in places that make sense. How's that bad?

If they artificially put an Orc, Argonian, Woodelf, etc... family in every city just for the sake of showing off all the new character models; now THAT would have been ridiculous.
