Anyone else annoyed with the armor and weapons?

We have a strange lack of clean, simple armor and weapons. I get that the gaudy and ridiculous Daedric and Dragonbone have a place, with the elegant Ebony and Elven, but it seems like we just hop from bits of animal skin and tin cans held together with duct tape and wishful thinking. The steel and leather armors do way to little to bridge the gap between tin cans and smelly animals and spiky ridiculous dead lizard/Daedra. The weapons are just as bad, the silver sword is a bit better but can't be upgraded and is only viable against undead. For a recap, am I the only one here who wants some nice light chain mail and Knight in Shining Armor steel?

gleaming shining armor is a fairy tale, even in fantasy. It's a sign of lack of use. No wear and tear. A warrior who's armor is pristine, is a warrior with smooth hands, if you catch my meaning.
Iron Armor, and Steel, should suit your armored self-styling fine. If those aren't your type, go with Dwemer and be a Golden knight in shining armor. The Dwemer metal hides the chinks and dents better.

Perhaps Hold Guard armor for light chain mail and Steel plate for 'knight in shining armor'. The Blades armor piece looks quite cool too. Steel, or Skyforge Steel is a nice simple design and are viable weapons, dwarven swords look OK if you're fine with yellow.

You mistake my meaning. I want armor that isn't Nordic, isn't gold and covers your entire body. By knight in shining armor, I just meant your stereotypical Arthurian armor. EDIT: the steel plate is just too Nordic, and the Skyforge weapons. I just want some of the good stuff from High Rock.

Well..King Arthur was supposedly a Roman or so History Channel would have me believe, so you could try Imperial Armor.
You're in Skyrim, not Hammerfell. Hammerfell is traditional Arthurian/Medieval style, Skyrim is Nordic. Imperial is Roman, etc etc etc.

High Rock is snuggling with Skyrim, seems like we could get done of that nice Medieval stuff. I guess that there isn't really a point here LOL.

Well, your in Skyrim. Animal skins and fur are probably the main resource for almost everything. And Nordic styled designs are also seen a bit on some other armors like Daedric if you look closely. I can't say this should be much of a complaint, considering the setting you're in. We can't always have the generic knight in shining armor, though I do understand what you're saying. A lot of the armor in this game isn't very suiting unless you're a Nord or if you want to wear some of the more ridiculous armor.

Addendum: I have mixed up High Rock and Hammerfell...if I had a dime for every time I did that.

I feel you have enough armor choices to make yourself look Knightly or Warriorific. You're not going to look like no Holy Warrior, but it's not that kind of setting. It's all in how you carry yourself.

Look at it this way. Armor has looked different depending on the region.
If we ever go to say, Hammerfell, I'm sure their Steel and Iron armors would have a very Arabian flair to them.

That Arabian flair is what I'm excited about.
