It's not a relationship that really did raise a question out of me. Hermy saw a god among men and reached out vocally, something the divines don't really do to often. Akotosh..All maker? Made a dragonborn in the name of balance, Hermy twisted that gift towards his advantage and created inner chaos amongst the priests and dragons, which lead to an uprising of mankind to fight the dragons. This intern creates a world with a longer length, a time the princess could spread their power ,something hermy admitted he enjoyed about Miraak. If he did escape he would spread the power of HM, althought the downside being he would be out of direct control. It's just the cycle HM set into motion to obtain power, You may shout in the language of battles, but as Miraak said "You do know hermues Mora is laughing at us." He sought the opportunity to grab a new god among men and took it. Knowledge is a power most underestimate. I can shout in the toung of dragons all I want, but HM knows all the right buttons to press in order to get what he wants.

im not sure if this has been said yet or not but lets all just face it. miraak was a dragon priest how long ago? he has been trapped in HM's realm for the better part of 3 eras. why wouldn't he and all of his gear be strongly influenced by the realm he was trapped in for that length of time, also im not 100% sure on the dates of this other than we meet him relatively close to the beginning of the 4th era, and i think the dragon wars were in the 1st? please correct me on this.

Certainly bugged me. Wouldn't have bugged me as much if I could have found more practical or powerful knowledge in the realm though. Span the course of 7 Black books and I'm still not invincible, all-powerful, or a God. Son I am Disappoint.

But yeah, I hate the Daedra. Meridea (sp?) and Azura not so much, but the rest are just a bunch of [censored]s really.

how can you hate sheogorath? he is so delightfully mad. but im mostly the same way. boethia, dagon(and not because of oblivion), mephala, nocturnal, and especially vaerminia (i really would like to see her realm though), hircine is meh to me as ive never enjoyed being prey and hunter or even a wolf.

I think Sheogorath can be charming in a way, but he can just as often be equally as annoying.

I don't really mind Hircine that much, I just kind of wish he would quit gifting out beast blood to people. Though admittedly it is more fun to strike someone and watch them turn into a Werewolf than it is to simply strike them a second time and watch them die.

I don't really mind Vile so much either, but that's mostly because he only really seems to screw over people who are stupid of power-hungry.

But the rest of the lot, they can pretty much all just gargle magma and dance in razor-wire for all I care. (Probably sounds like a lovely evening for some of them)

I love Herma-Mora's involvement in all this. It makes sense that after Akatosh gave the gift of Dragonblood to the first Dragonborn, (Miraak) that it would spark the interest of a knowledge hungry daedra like Ol' Hermy. I can just see him watching Miraak for a sign of weakness, to get that knowledge for himself. Once he saw Miraak's lust for power, Hermy probably swooped right in and manipulated him with promises of knowledge / power.

I'll be honest and say that I thought the whole Dragonborn MQ storyline (highlighted by the ending) smacked of the second part of a trilogy. It was a 'happy' ending of a sorts but still leaving very much a dark overtone (implied that you are now bound to Herma Mora). I'm thinking Empire Strikes Back kind of ending.....

So I'd like to see this come full circle, because I feel a bit like there is still something brewing in the background regarding HM.

Yeah, too much Mora stuff and too little Miraak/Dragonborn stuff.
I HATE when key characters are so underdeveloped, expecially if they were megahyped and potentially very important regarding TES lore.

So, we know that Miraak was a Dragonborn AND a Dragonpriest.
He was probably tasked by Akatosh with the role to kill Alduin, but he refused and things went the way we know, with Hakon and other ancient heroes using the Elder Scroll at the Throat of the World, basically creating....us...
First question is...why Hakon&friends would've asked a DRAGON PRIEST to aid them against Alduin? Maybe because he was devouring dragons, but we know that he was soon discovered by Valhok and jailed for his crimes, and I doubt this happened during the War against Alduin.

Anyway at some point Miraak discovered that he was the Dragonborn, but choosed another destiny for himself and rebelled against his Dragon masters...did he choose this because of Mora or for his own motives?
He started devouring Dragons and probably went power mad, his plans are then discovered by the Guardian aka Valhok. Here the book states that he was being killed by Valhok, but Herma Mora saved him, while during the quest in Valhok's tomb it's hinted that he was defeated and jailed on Solstheim, not killed...
So he was jailed...how did he escape custody? Did he make a pact with Mora to escape and went to Apocrypha?
Anyway, at last he ended thousand of years in Mora's realm....with Mora repeating many times that he served well...how so if he was trapped all this time? Did he mean that killing some dragons, get caught and jailed was "serving him well" or Miraak did some nasty things in the name of Mora while trapped in Apocrypha?

Then you meet him at the summit of Apocrypha...hoping for some dialogue like Dagoth Ur had...but no, he talks 20 seconds and them bam...he's a challenging opponent (at least on master), you fight him hoping for at least some conclusive dialogue, but NO, here's Mora again.....

Imho that's too many questions left unanswered about the MAIN character of the dlc...

Yes. As I've been saying, Miraak's character development is weak and his ties to Herma sour him a bit for me.

I still like him, but I wanted him to be more of a baddie than he is. Give him a fleshed out personality, connect him emotionally and psychologically to the PC.

Lets see, he was in Hermaeus Mora's realm of Oblivion. He was seeking knowledge. He became Mora's minion. Do you really want to do the math?
