Anyone Else Enjoy Killing Falmer?

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 2:14 am

Is it wrong to enjoy killing Falmer?

I've found that with most "foes" there's nothing personal ... just me or them. Though wiping the smiirk off of a Thalmor face is oddly satisfying.

But I really enjoy kiliing Falmer. I truly destest the blind little freaks ... and their little Chorus' too ... and would really enjoy a "kill every Falmer in Skyrim" quest.

Is this unusual? Should I seek professional help?

No they're evil little gremlins that don't do anything for anybody and only care about themselves.

But I enjoyed killing goblins more. They were so stupid and primitive, it was more like squishing an ant.

I actually kind of pity the Falmer, even if they have been evil little bastards since they were still Snow Elves fighting Ysgramor. But they all die the same.

I actually kind of pity the Falmer,

I know what you mean and have briefly had the same feeling, particularly when I saw the statue.

But, I quickly returned to a undeniable enjoyment in killing them.

Maybe the family in the lighthouse situation traumatized me and caused this transformation into pitiless Falmer exterminator.

I blame Bethesda.

I too pity them. A proud and powerful race who was driven underground and corrupted by a lust for revenge. I do no feel guilty for killing them though, since I am only doing what I can with the options I have,

Of course they would not give a second thought to murdering you for coming into their home.

With my stealthy archer character I hugely enjoyed wandering through Falmer areas putting them, and their disgusting pets, down without them knowing I was even around. However, my satisfaction is even greater with my new great-sword slinger, because now the buggers can hear their death approaching, though the chaurus(sp?) are surprisingly tough to kill with a sword).

The past is, sadly, the past. I pitty what happened to them, but with the rising amount of serface attacks there isn't much we can do as the "hero" of Skyrim. I'd explore other options if I could because there seem to be more hiding underground than what one man can fight off himself, but that's just not a possiblity right now. If they were to make a push for the serface with how wartorn Skyrim is right now, it wouldn't be a pretty site.

And ya, the falmer area's are often really interesting to delve. I have fun going through their area's.

Yes, and there seem to be hints that this is what they have in mind.

A full blown erruption of hungry Falmer might be interesting.

Were that to happen, many Skyrim inhabitants might be pretty quick to put squabbles about Talos on the back-burner ... though a sudden reappearance of dragons didn't seem to encourage them to do so.

I kill them with the same indifference I kill everyone except Justiciars. Although, I find a strange satisfaction in backtracking through a Falmer cave and looking at their corpses, knowing they died by my scimitar.

At least there aren't any Falmer Warlords you have to beat on for five minutes to kill (like Goblin Warlords in Oblivion). But yeah, I love the noise they make as my arrow takes them down. Plus their ears are useful.

One of the most annoying enemies was the goblin warlords in Oblivion, it seems they had more hit points than just about anybody in the game, very annoying indeed.

Yes, I found that sound enjoyable as well.

And the ears are useful. Took me quite awhile though to actually munch on one for the purpose of determining its alchemical properties (same with Giants Toe ... could never work myself up to try a bite of "human heart", though never had trouble chomping on Daedra heart).

Weird, eh?

Yes. They are horrible creatures that look like they will take a bite out of me when they get to close. I try to dispatch them as quickly as possible.

Only kill them if needed.

All they really are is the left over of horrid Dwemer experiments. You could compare them to what Hitler did to the jews, disabled, etc.

It is unusual. You should love to kill each and everyone. Seeking professional help is never a bad idea.

Well they deserved it (the Falmer). They betrayed Ysgramor and the rest of his homies and tried to kill them. That's just rude man. They got what was coming to them.

OOOOOoooooooo......you kill Falmer with you curved sword? Curved. Sword. ? Seriously, though, I think they offer a very satisfying kill. I also feel sorry for their plight, but it has taken a long time for them to evolve into what they are now, and they will not hesitate to destroy you.
M'aiq believes enemies are enemies. M'aiq believes in killing before you get killed.
