Anyone else have an awesome skyrim setup planned?

Post » Fri May 11, 2012 10:55 am

So basically... I've got a 50" plasma TV (which I bought just for skyrim) hooked up to a Sony surround sound system and the most comfortable couch ever. For food, a 12 pack of Mountain Dew, tons of chips, and a large pizza. Anyone else have a setup already planned out?

My 19 inch > any TV bigger than 32 inch

I like as much image quality as I can retain on console.

I got a 30" Gateway (2560x1600) monitor with a Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 speaker system in front of me along with 2 big floor speakers hooked up to a stereo system behind me, both of which are running to my sound card (SB XFI Titanium) for 4.1 surround that I've been using for a few years now. I plan on going into Skyrim full force with this setup.

Food: Barbecue Chips and Iced Tea.

:goodjob: I might not eat some real greasy foods though as Zeal Dreamer mentioned they gunk up your controller, mouse/ keyboard whatever your weapon of choice. And as I'm going to be playing NON stop its bit healthier

Hm, only upgrade I'm doing is to dump my crappy 19'' 1280x1024 LCD for a 23" 1920x1024 LED.

But then again, this wasn't specifically done for Skyrim, but for the sake of gaming in general :brokencomputer:

Not really. I'll just have a huge stack of 12-packs of diet Dew in the house, that's the most important thing.
Oh, and also, I'll have a very nice/kind husband to send out for pizza, Chinese, & tacos etc. when I get hungry for some dinner & I haven't gone to the grocery store yet.

I actually built a room in my basemant for Skyrim. Its a 10x20 room and I just have to paint and put flooring in which should be done by Thursday. I also bought a $1,300 computer with a 24" Samsung 1920x1080. So my plan is to have it all put together and ready to go Thursday night. I'm going to randomly eat junk food and drink Mountain Dew all Friday night though Saturday. I told my wife all this so she shouldn't divorce me on Sunday.

I have positioned the pillows (we have way too many), cushions and a large quilt (it's freezing here) on a spare matress to make a luxury pit, complete with mini-fridge and a short walk to my en-suite. My pit is positioned directly in front of my 32inch Plasma, running on my Xbox 360 in HD. For dinner, I am ordering Dominos Pizza. Specifically a large, stuffed crust pepperoni with a 2 litre bottle of Dr.Pepper. Standard.

Going to midnight launch with my best friend and my future brother-in-law. I have my PS3 hooked up to a 32" Sony Bravia LCD, via HDMI. I know, not the most stellar setup. For food and drink, I'll have three digiorno pizzas, a bunch of pizza rolls, chips, maybe Cheezits, mountain dew, pepsi, coffee, tea. I may even play with the light off.

I'm getting the CE (my fiancee' paid for it, woot) and guide.

When we get back, first things first, put the pizza in the oven and pizza rolls in microwave. Next do an unboxing for my fiancee' over webcam, her request. Next, download the day one patch and install. By the time it's done installing, the pizza should be done. Then it is time to play all weekend straight. NO SLEEP ALLOWED! Muahahaha!

Just finished completely wiping my system and setting it up for peek performance. No point in listing all the specs when a simple pic will do. http://www.nastyhobbit.org/data/media/2/my-epeen.jpg ;) Needless to say I have no fear of not being to run Skyrim on anything less that max settings.

Aside from that Thursday I plan on doing my "ritual cleaning" and get everything around the immediate area of my PC completely spotless, and go shopping for a variety of junk food, and possibly a new coffee maker, while I count the hours till the midnight launch which I plan on hitting sometime between 9-10 p.m.

Once I get back home from the midnight launch (about a 6 min dirve) The plan is as follows:

1: Open the CE
2: Start the install right away
3: Set up the statue and flip through the Art Book and CE Hardcover guide while it is installing.
4: Activate on Steam praying there are no hiccups
5.) Nerd on my keyboard
6.) Start playing and don't stop till I pass out from exhaustion. :D

Gonna play it maxed out on my PC. Got a 24inch Dell U2410 at 1920x1200, logitech z-2300 speakers during the day and Sennheiser HD 650s at night with a Xonar Essence STX sound card. Will switch between mouse+keyboard and wireless 360 controller as I feel like it. Just gotta make sure I got enough food and beer to last me the 4 days straight I will be playing :celebration:

I'd like to hook my PC up to our TV downstairs but I haven't yet figured out how to get the picture to fit the screen (the picture is cut off on the sides due to the way TVs render pictures) with the surround sound, but chances are I won't really be able to for that long, so it's not worth it. I have a 23" HD monitor that I just got, though.
