Anyone else having RL getting in the way?

Post » Wed May 09, 2012 7:28 am

So Skyrim unlocks 11/10 at 11pm where I live but I have some things getting in the way:

1 - I can't stay up till late cuz I have to work the next day so I'll probably just scratch the surface of the game tomorrow night to see what it looks and feels like, nothing more.

2 - Friday I have to work all day then at night I'll hang out with my friends who don't play video games at all. I know I know, I should say screw the friends but they are the last piece of non nerdness still left in my life, so...

3 - Saturday morning I promised my mom I would help her clean her house.

Wich leave only saturday afternoon to really start enjoying Skyrim to the fullest. Now that sux.

Anyone else having RL getting in the way of enjoying Skyrim asap?

I work nights so normally it'd be fine. I'd have from midnight thursday to Friday night to play. However, I have frickin' jury duty thursday. So, I don't know what my sleep schedule will be like. I may sleep through the night, depending on how late it is. >=-( Then I work all weekend.

I now have a job interview to attend so I'll have to make some of the time I saved fro Skyrim to prepare for that instead... not really all that upset though: potential new job + Skyrim = bi-winning! :celebration:

Not really, just rolling change, playing guitar, and most of all SKYRIM-ing over the weekend.
Though i may just have to skip Wednesday D&D this week.
P.S. A lot of folks here schelduled Friday off or had it off for Rememberance/Veteran's Day, a far as I heard.

I work so I will too only scratch the surface of the game on Thursday night. When I come home from work on Friday afternoon there is a wife and daughter waiting for me to give some love and attention. So I'll probably give it a real whirl on Friday night. Feels like Christmas.

That means you are a responsible man who won't let a game ruin his life, and a dutiful son who respects his mother.

Sorry, are you complaining that you have ethics and discipline?

My wife invited friends over to plan some random party, but I think I'll just send them to the shed.

Oh life. I have a work gathering on the evening after work on the 11th. Date on 12th, Grandfathers birthday the next day, and my internet speed is limited to 128k until the 19th due to too much downloading

I'm really NoT looking forward to next week - work-wise, that is. Going to have three weeks of full-on after hours meetings and training days to organise. I will be dead tired, I can just see it. But I shall persevere... the release of Skyrim is just too important for me to become bogged down in work stuff.

I have really busy schedule with my university project. I have 250 hours of work planned prior to christmas and that's only one course I've others to pass also. Not much time to play Skyrim. :( But this following weekend is for Skyrim and Skyrim only, that's planned ages ago. :)

11/11 is a national day off in France. WW1 armistice. At least there's one positive thing about WW1 : it will allow me to play Skyrim all Friday :celebration:

I'm working Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. 8 hours a day.... Annoying thing is that I'm only working about 60% right now so that's really unusual, got 3 days off after Monday though, those will be my Skyrim days....

Nah, I got Friday off and my wife bought Skyrim for me as a Christmas (I call it winter holiday) gift. She knew what it meant and I took off paid for Friday.
She works Friday and I am going tomorrow to the midnight launch, so I have all morning Friday and all day every day until Next Monday.

I may take Monday off as well, but I was thinking of tomorrow instead just cause I don't want to work tomorrow so I can play BF3.
Just got to ask my Supervisor.

BF3 is awesome and I am going to miss playing it.
