Anyway, I beat Sleeping Dogs the other day, it took me a good week and some days of steady playing between work and stuff. And after the credits and the final cut scene I just kinda sat back and thought, damn...that was a really good game. Everything about it was just so entertaining, the story, the gameplay, everything was so well done for a game that came completely out of nowhere for me.
A lot of video games these days focus solely on multiplayer and put little effort into the single player story. But Sleeping Dogs is a breath of fresh air, the whole game is story-driven, and you can tell a lot of thought was put into the characters and story making it feel more like you're playing a movie without having to constantly interrupt you with long cut scenes and endless dialogue. There are quite a few cut scenes compared to other games, but they are spread out very well, and they all advance the story (no pointless pvssyr) so it keeps you watching and interested. The characters are all unique, although a lot of them are fairly stereotypical, you actually grow to care about some of them.
The gameplay flows nicely, the driving is smooth, the gunfights are intense, and beating tough guys senseless is very satisfying.
Anyway, these are all just my own thoughts, I enjoyed every second of this game and it easily made my list of all-time favorite games. Anyone else play this game or at least heard about it?
