Anyone else questioning the difficulty settings?

To start I'm going to clarify that I'm not necessarily complaining, as this was more a "WTF!?" moment.

So I'm strolling along doing my Orc Shaman thing through the mountains of of Hjaalmarch and I come across a Nordic ruin. "Sweet!" I said to myself, "I was looking for something to do!"

I walk inside to this creepy dark labyrinth full of mediocre treasure and low level Druagr. They're not really one hit slayings, but I make short work of them with little to no difficulty. I kill two mobs of these [censored] ass Nord zombies and come into a small cave-like opening where a Draugr Deathlord appears. Now I'm ready for a good fight! I summon my Atranoch and get ready to throw some fire and lightning from my fingertips, my axes lay eager at my waist. Just as I'm about to throw some fire the Draugr looses and arrow.

And that's it. I died. That one, single arrow, crushed through 200 points of health like nothing.

If I was on Master I wouldn't be so upset, but I play on Adept, easy enough for fun and hard enough for a little challenge here and there. My first thought, of course, was to immediately defend the game, "I must just be too low a level, right?" So I grab my handy dandy Prima and It says this dungeon is recommended for level 24's. I'm level 30, in full Dragonplate (Legendary).

That's what pisses me off. I love that Bethesda announced leveled instances into Skyrim. Back in Oblivion I felt that all of my hard work got me nowhere as everything leveled with me, but in Skyrim I was supposed to encounter places I couldn't really go until I was leveled a bit. But 200 damage with one arrow? 200 damage in a level 24 dungeon? It felt like I was set up!!!

I never seem to encounter an enemy on my level. It's either I'm pounding through weaklings or I'm fighting a single dude that takes 3/4 of my health away with one swing, and by the time I've healed myself he has already hit me again. It's because of this that I almost prefer the old mob system from Oblivion.

Does anyone else agree? Feel free to share your opinions or similar experiences, thanks for reading!!

I would rather have this Skyrim system and run into something I can't handle rather than Oblivions system of never finding anything at all to challenge you. Its not perfect, but it certainly is a much better step in the right direction.

Nothing they do will satisfy everyone. Some people have experiences like you. others say they crush everything in sight to easily on the highest difficulty. You cannot strike a balance- perfect or otherwise- for everyone.

That said, one Draugr arrow has never come close to killing me, at any level. 200 pts health seems a lil bit low for level 30.
