Anyone else seeing their vampire lord covered in dirt?

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 4:28 am

My character looked like she was covered in dirt when she 1st became a vampire lord. I then had her cured by falion so I could visit the face sculpter in riften. Afterwards I had Serana turn her back into a vampire lord and the dirt didn't show up again until I had fast traveled to a few places. Is that the way it's supposed to be and if not, is there a way to get rid of it? None of the VL NPC's look dirty. It doesn't affect gameplay at all but I hate it the way it made her look. My character now resembles more of a zombie instead of a vampire.

It's a silly glitch where your character (Expecially females) get a dark, "Dirty" skin colour. It looks like you've put the Dirt slider up when creating them. It mostly happens when you become a Vampire, it can happen just randomly though.
I've got the same problem with my Breton Female Vampire Lord Character. There is a was to stop it, but it's not a permanent fix, you'll have to keep loading a save before you became a vampire, and then loading the one you want to play on as a Vampire. It gets rid of it, untill you load again or turn off your console or whatever.

A Pain in the Bumm Really.

Funny, It just happened to my vampire character I have on my ps3 game too. Thanks for the info. I had never seen that before and suddenly I see it twice in one week on 2 different consoles.

It's called the dirt face bug and here is what you can do to get rid of it :

You must go to the face sculpter and remove all make up and eye liner... no war paint and no dirt... also set the skin color all the way left to pale.

Make her face as clean as possible before you turn into a vampire... i also too the first eye brows, cause they change too.

This happens when in character creation you choose the palest skin colour.

When you turn a vampire your skin is supposed to pale a shade. When it is already the lightest shade, it becomes the darkest for some reason and this can often look quite grimy/ sunburnt.
Solution, if you plan to become a vampire choose the second palest skin colour at creation.

I did this anyways, when I first created my Character, but I still have the "Muddy Face" look.

Ouch :(

I suppose you could try what magyaronny wrote in the post above mine you quoted.
Youd need to get rid of your vampirism before the face sculpturer can help you.
A filled black soul gem is not that hard to get, if youve done the Dawnguard questline.
Valerica's hideout has two empty ones.
Get Valerica or Serana to make you a vampire again.

Good luck

All you have to do when you get the "muddy face" look is transform to the VL form and back to human again. It will correct your characters face till the next time you load the game.

You are the living dead...Nosferatu, the undead. You aren't going to have a glowing complexion and rosy cheeks...or, as said, it could just be a glitch.

Dirty face comes at random. One save my vamp doesn't have a dirty face on another she's does. If you transform into a VL then turn back it should fix it.

May work for others, but it hasn't worked for any of my Vampire characters. It get's rather annoying considering my Breton male had the one before the palest skin setting, and now, he looks like a Redguard who's been mud fighting!
