A funny thing, Tumblr is. It's a blogging host that has been repurposed by it's users to be a photo sharing website. Seeing as most teens (who make up Tumblr's demographic) do not understand what HTML and coding is, the possibility of blog customization has just been limited to "cool backgrounds" and music. To the users of Tumblr, it's capabilities of text posting, video uploading, audio sharing, etc. are just side applications, the photos are the REAL kicker. It's kind of sad, and due to Tumblr's popularity, the word "blog" has become synonymous with "website where you post pics".

It's a website...for blogging I guess. I only got one to join some fandoms that couldn't share their art on another website. Also...you rock tumble? I love ROCKS! precious, semiprecious it doesn't matter I always found them to be cool.

I made a tumblr once, so I suppose I still have it. I posted a few pics to it and then ignored it.
As usual, my main reason for making one was to see "what the fuss was about" and how the site worked - it's why I made a Blogger page once too. But I have my own (rented) webservers/domains for things like that, so I don't actually need 3rd party ones.

I don't get this whole social media thing to be honest. Facebook still eludes me and I refuse to get the dang thing due to how invasive it can be. Thing I hate the most is how people make profiles on FB, rat out others, and that person doesn't find out until another person with FB pops up telling them. Seen differing news articles tell about the damages that these social sites like FB can do to people.

Only thing i'm tempted to get is Tumblr which seems decent. Twitter confounds me to no end with people wanting to know what others think almost on a minute by minute basis.
