Anyone here interested on starting an RP?

Just wondering if anyone would be game. Dunwall looks like it could be an interesting place to hold an RP. Although I won't start until I finish the game myself.

I've been thinking about starting a RP based on this game for quite sometime! I'd be so on board with this, but I just have one question: What type of RP exactly are we referring? A basic post-by-post type or one that would involve a point system/dice (aka, the original form)?

But yeah, this could be fun and yes I agree that waiting til the game has been played/broken into would be best before jumping right in to it!

This is relevant to my interests. Some more details on what you're looking for would be nice, OP.... and of course
I would need to finish the game first, to familiarize myself with the lore/locales/etc, but it IS an intriguing place that
just begs to be explored further.

Right! The setting and just the unique time-period/fantasy/supernatural edge Dunwall creates is just spilling with rp-elements. I wouldn't necessarily be playing an assassin out for revenge, but just working in that environment with an ordinary old bloke down the street could be an interesting character to delve into!

I would highly recommend the Pathfinder system, or even World of Darkness. Call of Cthulu would work well too, but would likely need tweaks. Also, if you plan on doing this I also recommend a program called Combat Manager. Basically, it's a DM program that has just about everything you need to run a game, including a large encyclopedia of monsters, feats, etc. Even a dice roller and initiative roster.

I would also be interested in something like this. Curious, who's running and how long have they been doing this? Otherwise I'd also like to give it a try, hell I made an Assassin's Creed game, and even an Elder Scrolls one too, so why not Dishonored?! It's a great setting too.

Harvey has thought about making a Dishonored RP system but I don't know about his preferred p&p leanings, whether it be oWoD/nWoD, GURPS or the various others out there. I've never been able to properly commit to PbP even though I've wanted to. Anxiety gets the best of me, but Dishonored sounds like it has a great world to try with. It would need to be something like WoD or Call of Cthulu as mentioned, possibly a hybrid. It would probably be best to go free-form to start but this is not practical experience speaking. I would give this a shot at some point as I almost wrote a fan fic before the Tales of Dunwall series came out and created a canon story about Esmond Roseburrow going to what I now know is Dunwall Tower to present his findings formally to the Empress early in her reign. Said that by means of saying yes I'm interested in the future.

I used to run a WoD game over mIRC using a private room, it seemed to work out well, given you can do actions and things. I think there is a better platform out there though, I thought I saw an article about a different system in a PA article not long ago. The real grief is getting everyone together, aside from figuring out the play style. Still it can be done, just requires some imagination.

Not to mention you could likely visit more than just Dunwall and the surrounding areas/islands. Could be pretty neat.

RPOL.net is where I tried joining a couple PbP games but got cold feet and with my phone-only internet access it's the only venue I feel confident I could join, but until I've played the actual game I couldn't judge how to make it work anyhow yet lol. Still, something to think about.
