Anyone keep their weapons sheathed when talking to NPCs or i

Post » Wed Nov 14, 2012 2:56 pm

I know it might seem like a small thing to always do, but I have always preferred to keep weapons sheathed. It started when I read one of the tips found on the loading screens of Oblivion. One of the tips said talking to people while your weapon is out makes them like you less. I sort of just took that to heart and assumed that was how it would work in Skyrim when I first got Skyrim.

It's just a habit of mine.

I keep my weapon sheathed most of the time, mostly due to running speed, but in some situations ill have it drawn if I am "alert" to a danger nearby. Its really situational.

I unequip shield and helmets in cities as well, just a habit I've had for a long time.

Even if it doesn't work that way, it seems to be a good idea anyways. Having a daedric 2handed sword out while talking to the Jarl.....I sure wouldn't do that.

I do every time. It's part of my RP.

The only time I leave them unsheathed is if I plan on attacking the person I'm conversing with. Even then, I'll usually leave them sheathed until the conversation is over, then I'll stalk and assassinate them at my leisure.

Like other people above me have mentioned, I also unequip any hoods or helmets that I may have equipped. Again, it's all about the personality that I'm involved in RP'ing to the fullest.

That's how this assassin rolls.

I have weapon sheathed a lot of the time, even when I'm in a dungeon. I read that having weapons sheathed makes sneaking better and running faster. I also like having less visual clutter.

You are not alone. I have a habit of keeping my weapons sheathed and magic unequipped when dealing with characters and passing through towns. In the past, I would walk around with my sword branded and the folks and Oblivion did not appreciate it. After losing desposition points and being attacked as a result, I became a pacifist around non-hostile NPCs.

Acually the guards will tell you it make them nervous when you inappropriately have a weapon drawn.

I always try to sheathe weapons in town, and will remove my helmet when I remember to.

Truth be told, I keep my hardware sheathed most of the time outside of dungeons, so I can move faster. Most of my characters only kill the foes they must anyway.

I keep my weapon sheathed all the time, except for in combat.

I also sit down in in-game chairs when I take breaks, is that weird?

I keep my weapons most of the time unless there's a high chance of danger like when I'm in a cave or dungeon.

I don't draw my weapon if I'm not fighting, even in dungeons. No reason to have it covering part of my field of vision if I'm not using it.

I only draw my weapon in fights and in dungeons and when "smelling danger".

same, Weapons stay sheathed everywhere except dungeons until their cleared or are in Combat.

I also sit down in Taverns to read books I find along the way and eat all the foodstuffs in my inventory, I also ask the bards to play songs and get my daily radiant quest from the inkeep

No. I seek out taverns, and inn's so that I can sit down and read books i've collected. Then I sell the books.
