Anyone know the console command to turn off Random Dragons?

Post » Sun May 27, 2012 11:58 pm

Random Dragons are really starting to piss me off. WAY too many, in my game.

The Mod on skyrimnexus doesn't work... or at least it doesn't after the "stealth" Steam update of the executable.

Please don't tell me to "just don't fight them"... I want them turned OFF!!!

So, if anyone knows the console commands necessary, I'd sure appreciate it!

Thanks.

Here's how you do it;

Make a new character and don't initiate the main quest with the Jarl of Windhelm by travelling to that tower and killing your first dragon. Before that there are no dragons.

Uhm, thanks, but no.

I'm not going to restart after investing 70 hours in my character, and I still have a ton of game to go.

There's got to be a way to turn them off in the console.

I'll paste what I wrote in the skyrimnexus forums for the "No Random Dragons" Mod:

Using the Console Command:

set MQ106TurnOffRandomDragons to 1

Seems to work... haven't seen a dragon in Days. I also check every time I load my saved game with the console command:

Help Dragons 3

And the setting also seems to have stayed in either my save games, or some .ini got modified.

everything's a blast now with maxed conjuration even if I didn't need it... the master level spells that revive high level humanoids and the daedra are a blast. Take the aggro off me as well. I can see how they would be annoying though if your build is not ready to fight them.

I don't play a caster. I play a 1h melee guy with a shield. The only "offensive range" that I use, is the shouts.

That said... it's not so much about fighting them, as it is that I'm purposely not progressing the main quest... I'm doing most of the quests in cities (townsfolk), jarl / thane quests, and faction quests, first. In my particular game (since the dragons are random)... they were just appearing WAY too often, and it was getting more annoying than fun, while I was in the middle of some other quest. I have way more souls absorbed than shouts. So turning off this distraction, for the time being, is what I opted to do. When I runout of souls, I'll probably turn them back on for a while.

Yeah, I'm sure all those pixels and poly's give you a real hard time.

"Flexes gaming muscle"; I'm off to kill some pixels.
