Anyone know what happens if you try to leave Skyrim?

Is it like Oblivion and there's just mountains everywhere, or do you get a lame Fallout 3 message like "sorry no, turn around"

The invisible wall says "go away, this is skyrim, not morrowind (or wherever you try to go) now Get back to playing"

If you attempted to leave the nine divines and the 16 deadric princes will instantly appear before you to congratulate you on leaving unfortunately there combined presence is to much for any mortal to take and you will be disintegrated instantly.

Already been confirmed somewhere that it is a mixture of both invisible walls and natural barriers :3.

If I remember correctly a massive snow storm blows in. A gigantic frost troll comes lumbering out of the blinding white and proceeds to eviscerate your character in ways unmentionable on this board. He then drags you back to the proper side of the border and dumps you with Health, Stamina, and Magicka all at 1. And in the only instance of equipment degradation in the game, all your armor and weapons are left broken.

Gonna cross that border again?

I recall "magic borders" in Oblivion too, specifically around the provinces of Elsweyr and Valenwood. If you managed to reach any other border, you'd likely see that message too.

What will be more interesting is what's beyond the borders when we gain access to the Toggle clipping code. Endless expanses of nothingness.

A bear comes out of the mountains and eats you, and if you somehow avoid that bear another one comes just to ruin your day. -SkiFree reference!

I come along and try to stop you. Then you proceed to kick my ass and you gain access to the other regions of Tamriel.
that's just speculation though. Maybe there will be a barrier and a message saying "turn back".

I'm kinda curious to see what happens if you go to the border with cyrodill.
I know it's HIGHLY unlikely, but imagine you could just about see the Imperial city in the distance.

That'd be awesome.
