I'm also very interested to know if anyone's having a (generally) frame rate issue free experience using an old PS3

I played for about an hour and a half last night and everything ran smoothly. I ran into one bandit camp and 3 bandits came out, one using magic, one shooting arrows, one with a sword. With all them attacking me at once there were still no drops in frame rate. I am not running an 'old' PS3 tho. I have the 160 GB, picked it up earlier this year.

Can't wait to get off work to play some more.

Played for roughly 10 hours now. Frame rate so far has been better than Oblivion's, generally quite smooth. Although, often after entering Whiterun I'll get some graphical lag for a few seconds but then it's gone. Haven't noticed any pop-in yet. Overall very pleased so far.

I'm playing on old fat 80GB PS3.

I should add that the shadows really svck. Very pixellated and they often flicker. Minor complaint though, I guess.

Yep, I've got an old 60GB PS3 (the chunky style) and its run flawlessly so far. The plant textures aren't as great as I'd hoped when you get up close, but its still a lovely looking game.

Hi,

I did a comparison in the PS3 technical thread if you check. I have played both console versions today as I bought it for both, and PS3 is better at the moment. Not sure how much this could be to do with the well documented texture issues on 360.

Very impressed.

I'm not playing yet, but I will as soon as the slow UPS man gets here!

Edit: @ Ragnarok_Ammar

The PS3 seems to be the better looking one and a huge difference as well.
There is a texture bug for the Xbox 360 so that's mainly the reason.

Just the shadow issues that are distracting to me - it's almost as if they wanted to put a lot of shadows in the game and had to really dial down the quality on them to make it fit. I think it's something I'll stop noticing after awhile, but that's my only graphical complaint. Some poor textures on walls up close, but whatever.. this is a huge game that still looks great on pretty old hardware. Also, the load times are muuuuch better than Oblivion.

Overall I think the visuals are very impressive for a game this size.

People are complaining that it doesn't look like Uncharted 3 or Crysis 2 and such. Well....this is a GIANT [censored] GAME. Graphics are not going to be as good as linear games such as those.

Depends on the game, if the developer activated the proper code it would be available from the XMB. Hopefully Skyrim has that code activated...

It seems the only difference from PC version (so far) is no arrow gravity.

Hi,

I have two 1080p 32 inch tvs. My xbox is connected to a Panasonic and my PS3 to a phillips. nothing at all in tv quality between the two (ones in lounge, ones in bedroom), both use hdmi as the input method and are on factory settings, no messing from me. I still think PS3 is better at this moment in time as its brighter, feels sharper and has no texture issues. xbox 360 is more rugged and duller, but some textures seem very inconsistent. The odd area (in rare instances) can be like the Sega Master System. Must be the bug maybe? I can only be honest and call as I see it.
