Would like to hear if people use this, if it compensates at high levels if mobbed compared to 'straight' damage destruction spells?

I'm thinking of making a Battlemage who would dual wield, wear heavy armor and enter battle cloaked with effects instead of spamming destro attacks.

Anyone?
