Im currently on 1.6 right now and I have not had that much problem at the moment.... So im just wondering about people who already updated their game, whether it fix more glitches or creates more issues???

So far so good! Level 57 with 400+ hrs. Haven't noticed any changes except for leaving Whiterun takes 2 seconds less. Objects still flip, still got the occasional matte finish on ground texture but everything started up from last save file. Seems they may have done something with the stamina when getting a power shot. Mine looked like it came back quicker. Nothing for the Draw time as I could tell. My spouse quit making dinner awhile back and she still is not doing it. Was there a limit to that dinner thing?

I have only just finished allowing XBox live to update me. So I haven't played any with it yet, but in anticipation of potential game breaking bugs or such, I did something new I'd never considered before. I backed up patch update data for the 1.6 on my XBox.

Some files, such as profile data or the update data (that's the patches) of a game cannot be copied to a flash drive, only moved there. I learned this when I figured out I had to move those to do the "unplug hard drive and purchase alchemy lab" workaround for that particular Dawnguard related issue. However, to play on afterwards without that flashdrive plugged in, you must move it back. If you found a problem that was big or annoying enough to want to return to 1.6, then deleting patch update data file on XBox and reconnecting to XBox live wouldn't help as it will always update to the latest and just give you 1.7 again.

What I did was move the 1.6 update file before plugging in my ethernet cable to a flash drive. I then downloaded Modio, a software program for extracting files in the special format that XBox must do to any flash drive you want to use with it, and located not the save folder on there, but the other one (don't recall what it was, but all it had was a file of just over 26 meg that was it). I extracted that as a backup to a folder on my computer. Then I moved the 1.6 update file back to my harddrive (probably not absolutely necessary as XBox live would likely have downloaded everything if it had nothing there). Only then did I upgrade.

The result is that I have a way, reversing the process, to return myself to a version of update that is the minimum requirement for Dawnguard to play but isn't 1.7 in case things go wrong, which they have a tendency to do with Beth's patches. I also backed up the most current saves on several playthroughs I have been playing with 1.6 because unfortunately, a save made under 1.7 will not load if I should have to return to 1.6. I plan to watch the UESP wiki and the forums for reports as I play myself. Hopefully unnecessary overpreperation, but just an idea for you.

What about the thing people reported with 1.6, where movable items were weighting differently or something, to the point where it became almost possible to pick them up and place them anywhere manually? That's what has kept me from updating since 1.5 (PC version if that makes a difference). I'm not having any major problems with my game and I like redecorating my houses, and I didn't think mounted combat was worth it. If it's no longer an issue I might give 1.7 a go.

Weighted objects still flip upside down. I haven't noticed any real changes to my game. Still have the same noticeable wierd stuff. Broken things are still broken. Only change that is good is it now takes 2 seconds less to get out of Whiterun. Still have floating weapons on the road, skeletons heads still roll forever, Bow distance is still the same, ground texture showing matte finish is still there. I just haven't noticed any real fixes except the transition screen is a tad faster. Good Luck!

I get CTD's every five minutes if I don't save. Not only that but I get a lot of purple landscapes, animals, people.

Were the things you mention (besides the weighted object issue) problems with your game *before* 1.6/1.7, or did they only start when you updated? Because I don't have those problems now and wouldn't be looking for a fix for them. And I'm certainly not looking to add a patch that creates them. :P

OTOH if the weighted objects thing is still an issue then I probably won't update anyway.

I haven't run into any problems with the patch. It actually made my game run better on the PC.

Sounds more like an issue with your system/GPU rather than the patch.

@ Lyn1964... Way back when. 1.5 was running for 600+ hours when 1.6 totally destroyed it and everything I had done until then. 1.6 almost had me hire a lawyer to start a class action suit against those folks. I was totally ticked off to say the least as their only suggestion was to start over. How lame is that. I bought a game and they broke it intentionally with 1.6
1.6 is "NOT" a better game by any means. It is different. Then they have brought out the Dawnguard DLC. I still do not have it yet. I refuse to buy another broken game from them.
Now if 1.7 makes that a pliable fix for the DLC then I may rethink my decision.
If you want to play offline and not update, I can totally see that. I'm playing 1.6 now for over 400 hours and 1.7 seems to have done nothing to break it so I'm still good. I'm pretty sure 1.7 has only addressed problems with the DLC and other troubles with the Kinect feature. I use neither of those and as long as it doesn't interfere with my present character play, I'm okay.
